Tropes for the film:

  • Chocolate Baby: Done when the viewer is lead to believe that one of the brother's sperm was used to impregnate the surrogate mother but as it turns out that the baby was actually her black boyfriend's, but they are so clueless they didn't care.
  • Dark Reprise: Parodied in which the power ballad "St. Elmo's Fire" (from the film of the same name) is used first as a general triumphant anthem for the titular brothers. During their (extremely brief) falling out, a more sombre, acoustic version of the song is played.
  • Mistaken for Pedophile: John and Dean decide that the only the way to get their dad out of his coma is to provide him with a grandchild, they decide to prepare for this by playing with kids, a mother comes by and takes her girl away from them thinking them to be be child molesters, they try to explain that they just wanted to play with her and get her some ice cream, the next day they attend a hearing for the misunderstanding and because they are so innocent from living in isolation they have no idea why they are there.
  • Tagline: "They want to put a baby in you".
