Tropes for the film:

  • Down in the Dumps: Pretty much all of the movie is filmed in real-life junk pile locations.
  • The Film of the Play: Based on Spike Milligan's play of the same name.
  • Non-Human Head: A comedy in which radiation-induced mutations cause people to simple turn into things, there exists a character, The BBC, with a TV for a head. He speaks in the manner of a TV announcer.
  • Oddly Small Organization: The BBC consists of just one man, because he's the only surviving member of the organization.
  • Pants-Free: The movie has the BBC announcer going door-to-door, reading the news while kneeling behind a gutted-out tv cabinet, wearing a tie and coat that, beneath chest level, is tattered long underwear.
  • Tagline: "WE'VE GOT A BOMB ON OUR HANDS (*BOMB - a motion picture so brilliantly funny it goes over most people's heads).
