Thane of East County also known as Blood Will Have Blood is a 2015 drama thriller film written and directed by Jesse Keller. It stars Carr Cavender, Molly Beucher, Connor Sullivan and Karl Backus.

It's a black and white film adaptation of William Shakespeare's play Macbeth. A theatrical production of Macbeth goes awry as the actors begin to carry out the actions of characters they portray.

“Thane of East County” contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Adaptation Expansion: The story revolves around the characters portraying actors in Shakespeare's play.
  • Love Triangle: Married couple Duke and Jen play Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. But Jen starts getting involved with James, Duke's understudy. Can be seen as Type 10 (Alice and Bob are in a relationship, but Bob is attracted to Charlie), with Jen as the Bob, Duke as the Alice, and James as the Charlie.
  • Monochrome to Color: As the black and white film plays, blood remains fully red in color.
  • Reckless Gun Usage: At a get-together for the actors, Duke has his gun collection in full display. He tries to show James how to shoot one. The trailer has Duke rebuking James for foolishly pointing at something with the gun.
Duke: (sternly) No. You NEVER point the barrel at anything living, unless you are planning on killing it, alright?
  • Tagline: "it will have blood, they say... blood will have blood"
  • The Weird Sisters: A trio of witches cast spells.
