What a lousy way to start the summer.
Sheriff Watson

Swamp Shark is a Made-for-TV Thriller movie by Griff Furst.

The town is getting ready for the annual Gator Fest down on the bayou, and everyone is excited. This time, however, things have gotten a little complicated. The Sheriff's latest animal smuggling job, a shark, seems to have gotten loose during transport, and escaped into the waters.

Among the first to notice are the staff of the Local Hangout called the Gator Shed, which include Rachel Broussard (Lo Graham), retired football player Jason "Swamp Thing" Broussard (Jeff Chase), Jason's sister Krystal (Sophie Sinise), busboy Martin (Jason Rogel), and Lauren's boyfriend Tyler (Richard Tanne). Since the shark ate the alligators they keep to entertain customers, they decide they need to catch this shark as well. Assisting them is the mysterious Tommy (D.B. Sweeney), a guy who always hangs out at the Gator Shed.

Whoever gets it first, its presence certainly can't be good for Gator Fest.

The film was released on June 25th, 2011.

Swamp Shark contains examples of:

  • The Alcoholic: Jackson. If he isn't drinking, he's staggering around in a drunken state.
  • Asshole Victim: Tyler wasn't exactly the nicest person in the movie. He dies late in at the shark's teeth.
  • Feed It a Bomb: Attempted. Jason theorizes that the best way they can kill the shark would be to make it eat something explosive. They jury-rig one by slathering a propane tank with blood and wrapping it in a net. The shark has it in its mouth, at which point the protagonists shoot the tank. Instead of exploding, though, the escaping propane gas send the tank flying out of the sharks mouth and into the distance.
  • Harpoon Gun: Tommy pulls one out and shoots it at a tree over a great distance to convince the Gator Shed staff to let him come along on their hunt for the shark.
  • Local Hangout: The Gator Shed, where much of the movie takes place.
  • Never Smile at a Crocodile: While patrolling the rim of the water at Gator Fest, one of the sheriffs narrowly avoids getting bitten by an alligator.
  • Off with His Head!: Deputy Cooper, while spying on two kids making out, gets his head bitten off by the shark.
  • Sniper Rifle: Rachel uses one to try and kill the shark when she first spots it.
  • Tracking Device: The staff of the Gator Shed planted tracking devices on their alligators to keep track of them. Since the shark attacked the alligators, they decide to use them to track the shark on the grounds that it probably swallowed them. They find them out in the swamp, not in the shark's belly. Though the shark does attack while they're collecting them.
