It was released on October 27, 1959.

Tropes for the film:

  • Bittersweet Ending: God has forgiven Solomon and has resurrected Sheba, but the repentant Queen must return to her homeland to respect her vow to God. Solomon quotes Psalm 30.5 in resolution.
  • Blinded by the Light: Solomon's tiny army is being charged by the Egyptians. He uses their polished shields to reflect the rising sun in the eyes of the charioteers, so they don't realize Solomon's men are standing before a chasm and plunge right in.
  • Enemy Mine: Having previously fought Egypt in defense of Israel, Adonijah joins the enemy to defeat Solomon and claim the throne.
  • The Film of the Book: Based on Books of Kings and Books of Chronicles.
  • Kill It with Fire: Solomon displays this trope on several assailants.
  • Mama Bear: During the Judgement of Solomon, the baby’s true mother throws herself over her son when Solomon issued the command to divide the child and pleads that Solomon give the baby to the other woman rather than let harm come to her son.
  • Name and Name: Solomon and Sheba.
  • Tagline: "The Mightiest Motion Picture Ever Created!".
  • Wrath Of God: Angered by Solomon’s involvement with a Pagan ritual, God destroys the Temple and puts a famine to the land.
