Sint is a 2010 Dutch horror film by Dick Maas (Flodder, De Lift, Amsterdamned).

In the late Middle Ages, Saint Niklas (Huub Stapel) was a disgraced bishop who went around plundering villages with his band of outlaws before being killed by a vengeful mob. Centuries later, his crimes have been forgotten and Sinterklaas has become an annual end of year tradition. But the evil ghost of Niklas returns on a full moon every few decades to kill the innocent...

This film provides examples of:

  • Antagonist Title: Sint is an evil zombie and an utter perversion of the normal Sinterklaas.
  • Bad Santa: Since this is a Dutch film, there's a bad version of Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas, on which Santa is based). When it's full moon on Pakjesavond (translated Presents Eve on 5 Decembre, the night when the kids get their presents), Sinterklaas comes. Not to deliver presents, but to kill you. (Apparently it's not Sinterklaas, but Saint Niklas, a zombie. But they look EXACTLY the same, so it counts). Commercial posters have caused controversy, as they seem to scare kids. The RCC (Reclame Code Comissie, a Dutch organisation that decides if commercials are allowed to be shown in public) has decided that the posters can stay were they are.
  • Hellish Horse: Niklas' horse doesn't look too hellish at first sight, more like a bit of a zombie horse, but it definitely has hellish powers, and runs across the rooftops.
  • Horror Doesn't Settle for Simple Tuesday: Takes place around 5 December during Sinterklaas.
  • Red Is Violent: Niklas all dress in red and is an evil and murderous zombie bishop.
  • Regularly Scheduled Evil: It deals with the regularly scheduled attack of the ghost of a Sinister Minister (which is the origin of the Sinterklaas / Santa Claus myth) and his flesh-eating naked barbarian "elves" every 25 years on Christmas. At the end of the movie, we find out that the police and government are aware of these attacks and seriously think there is nothing that can be done other than keep things under wraps and pray for the best, even letting one of the heroes (a Cowboy Cop Scrooge that hated Christmas because of being a survivor of a previous attack) take the posthumous fall for the movie's events.
  • Santabomination: It involves a man discovering the hard way that Sinterklaas is the ghost of a psychotic Knight Templar who reappears alongside his army every thirty-five years to inflict mass murder on cities and towns. While the heroes manage to give the ghost a bloody nose this time, it’s all but flat out stated that it didn’t stop him.
