Poison Ivy: The Secret Society is a 2008 made-for-television thriller directed by Jason Hreno and starring Shawna Waldron, Miriam McDonald and Ryan Kennedy.
Recently orphaned Danielle "Daisy" Brooks (McDonald) leaves her country life behind to pursue a degree at a private New England college. She's singled out for a prestigious scholarship, attracts the eye of the dean's handsome son Blake (Kennedy), and is invited to join the Ivy Society - a close-knit secret sisterhood on campus. But the attractive and ambitious Azalea (Waldron), who leads the Ivies, is also after the scholarship. And she's more than willing to do whatever it takes to get what she wants.
The film is the third In Name Only sequel to the original 1992 film, and the final instalment in the series overall.
This film provides examples of:
- Adrenaline Time: During Blake and Azalea's sex scene on his couch.
- Desk Sweep of Passion: Professor Graves does this while having sex with Azalea in his office.
- Dramatic Chase Opening: The movie's Cold Open beginning sees student Alexis Baldwin being chased through campus (by the Ivies, presumably) on a dark moonlit night before she's abducted.
- Lady in Red: Azalea wears a red blouse when she first seduces Blake.
- Male Gaze: Both times Azalea goes topless during her sex scenes, the camera slowly pans up and down her heaving breasts.
- Meet Cute: How Blake and Daisy first meet. He hops out of his sports car to help her re-pack her suitcase that's fallen open. She's embarrassed. Then he shows her to the girls' dorm. They both have a lot of lines about her luggage that totally aren't a metaphor, you guys!
- Out with a Bang: Azalea murders Professor Graves during sex by impaling his head on a sharp desk ornament.
- Roll in the Hay: Averted at the beginning of the movie. Daisy's fine with making out with her boyfriend in the back of a farmer's truck, but draws the line at going any further because she says it'll only make her leaving for college that much harder.
- Sexy Coat Flashing: When Graves hesitates at the door as he goes to leave his office, Azalea removes her dark coat to show him the sexy black lingerie she's wearing underneath and signal she's Ready for Lovemaking. It's enough to change his mind.
- Vapor Wear: Azalea specifically calls attention to her lack of underwear right before she boinks Blake on his couch in a denim skirt and heels to "jog his memory". It's the clinching argument when kissing him turns out not to be enough:
- Azalea [sarcastically] Aw. I'm sorry, did you think I was wearing panties?
- Victoria's Secret Compartment: In her attempt to seduce Graves, Azalea steals the keys to his office door and drops them down her cleavage to prevent him from leaving. When he initially rebuffs her, she acts apologetic and gives them back to him.
