A 2019 American family comedy directed by Andy Fickman that has a group of firefighters (John Cena, Keegan-Michael Key, John Leguizamo, and Tyler Mane) taking in some children (Brianna Hildebrand, Christian Convery, and Finley Rose Slater) after rescuing them from a fire and Hilarity Ensues.

The movie also stars Dennis Haysbert, Judy Greer, and Daniel Cudmore.

It was released on November 8, 2019.

Tropes for the film:

  • Abbey Road Crossing: Jake and his team, crossing an avenue when they go after a gift for Zoey.
  • Action-Hero Babysitter: Jake "Supe" Carson (Cena). He's the rugged and manly firefighter, they're the three kids that have to stay in the fire station until their parents are found.
  • Bathroom Breakout: Jake's last dinner with Amy ended with him "going to the bathroom and never coming back".
  • Blunt Metaphors Trauma: Rodrigo has a tendency to misquote idioms, or saying phrases that are not idioms at all.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Supe uses the laser pointer at the beginning to lead the extinguisher plane. Later in the film, he gives the pointer to Will as a gift, saying "If you need us, this will help us find you". And indeed, Will uses it in the climax, when he and his sisters get stuck near the cliff.
  • The Diaper Change: The movie features a scene where the youngest child, a toddler, needs her diaper changed. Jake dons all his gear before going in but reacts with horror upon realizing that the smell is getting through his SCBA, which is rated to handle nuclear fallout.
  • Insistent Terminology: They're not firefighters, they're smokejumpers. "There's over a million firefighters and only 336 smokejumpers". Lampshaded by Dr. Hicks when Supe calls the western spring toad a "frog".
    Dr. Hicks: They're toads.
    Supe: Same thing.
Dr. Hicks: Like firefighters and smokejumpers?
  • Not Now, Kiddo: As Brynn is driving away from being taken away by Child Services, Zoey repeats "bunny". Believing she was talking about her plushie, Brynn replies "we'll get you another bunny". She was alerting of an impending rabbit on the road.
  • Shout-Out: There are frequent references to My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic as the kids are seen watching an episode of the show and Axe, who is usually quiet, sings a version of the song.
  • Urine Trouble: Sparkle Pony, the firehouse dog, pees on Commander Richards' shoe. He was actually putting out a fire that was on it.
