Night Of The Dribbler is a Horror Comedy Movie by Jack Bravman.

The Watergate Plumbers are not the best college basketball team out there. In fact, they're terrible. For years now they've been on a losing streak against their rivals, the Green Bay Gators. And this year, it's not looking any better. The equipment manager for the team, Stan Bates (Gregory Calpalis), wants to become a player. Problem is, the coach (Fred Travalena) has no faith in his sports abilities.

What further complicates things is that this year, the team are being picked off one-by-one by a mysterious lunatic in a basketball mask. The police are on the case, but they don't seem to be all that competent at the job.

The movie was filmed in Montreal and Quebec in 1990, but didn't get released until 2009.

Night Of The Dribbler contains examples of:

  • An Arm and a Leg: When High Top is practicing in the gym one night, he slam dunks the ball into a hoop that the Dribbler placed a razor sharp rim on, causing it to slice his hands off.
  • Ash Face: Krunch gets one after the basketbomb blows up in his arms.
  • Aside Glance: Stan makes one at the end of the movie.
  • Bandage Mummy: Debbi becomes one after the Dribbler traps her in a shower room where she gets sprayed with scalding hot water.
  • The Bet: Dean Marks of Watergate and Dean Cook of Green Bay make one over who wins the championship game. The dean of the losing school team would have to be in the winning team's parade, naked, with a tattoo on their person, the location of which being determined by the winner. Dean Marks wins the bet, and at the end we see her putting a tattoo on Dean Cook's exposed buttocks.
  • Cartoon Bomb: Krunch gets tricked into a game of catch that results in him holding a bomb that's disguised as a basketball. The only tip-off that it's a bomb is the lit fuse.
  • Elvis Impersonator: High Top. He may not dress like the King of Rock and Roll, but he has the moves, and the accent.
  • Police Are Useless: The two cops assigned to investigating the attacks on Watergate's basketball team don't seem all that good at their job. They seem to completely ignore blatantly obvious suspects in favour of pursuing leads that are seemingly esoteric.
    • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: That said, they do seem to deduce that Stan's dad is the Dribbler.
  • The Reveal: At the end of the movie, Stan's dad comes out of the shadow's and reveals that HE'S the Dribbler, and that he's been taking out the other players so Stan can finally get on the team.
  • Spinning Newspaper: Every time the Dribbler takes out another player, it gets reported in this manner.
  • Written Sound Effect: Words occasionally flash on the screen, such as "Bzzzzzz" when a TV is dropped into a hot tub one of the players is soaking in, and "Bang!" when Stan's dad gets shot in the back to subdue him before he can hurt or kill Stan's girlfriend.
