Los Super is a 2013 comedy action Dominican film directed by Bladimir Abud, starring Cheddy García, Manolo Ozuna, Alan Brito and Cuquín Victoria.

The story is about three individuals: Cristina, a former Olympic champion and single mother, Belisario, a street hustler, and Benito, a radio technician with the air of an inventor, who will become, after the wave of crime surrounding their neighborhood, guardians of justice. But their biggest challenge occurs when they have to face the evil Vadomal, who in his eagerness to win over the people as a presidential candidate, will create a deadly virus that only he has the cure for.

This work provides examples of:

  • 10-Minute Retirement: Belisario temporarily leaves Los Super after Cristina and Benito admonish him for almost ruining their mission. However, he later comes back to aid them after they are captured by Vadomal alongside Juana and Luisito.
  • Actor Allusion: This isn't the first film that Cristina has taken it upon herself to seek justice regarding the government's broken system.
  • The Alleged Car: When Belisario shows Cristina and Benito the car they are going to use as a means of transportation to Vadomal's mansion, we get a shot of a big black car, initially assuming that's their car. Cue the black car driving away to reveal that the actual one is a red old one, much to their great disappointment.
    Cristina: Chepa, where's the vehicle?
    Belisario: There it is.
    Benito: No, that's not a vehicle. That's a machine!
Belisario: I knew it. I knew I couldn't fail you.
    Cristina: The black one?
    Belisario: No, the red one.
    Cristina: And that was it?
Belisario: And does that scribble even walk?
Belisario: Just as you can see, it can run faster than a hare.
  • Batman Gambit: Cristina and Benito gave the vials to Vadomal so that he would let Juana and Luisito go, but this decision turned out to be in vain. However, it is revealed that they had actually switched them for fake ones.
  • Big Bad: César Vadomal, the leader of the fictitious National Democratic Radical Party who is determined to win the presidential elections through a deadly virus that will kill some people and only he has the cure to save others, thus becoming a "hero" in the eyes of the public.
  • Butt-Monkey: Benito is a constant victim of this and it's Played for Laughs. For example, he gets accidentally hit by a bowling ball he uses as means to defend himself, twice, when a man tried to rob him and dodged the attack, then Benito hitting the button without realizing how it worked.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Aura insults Cristina's social background as she scolds her for singing out loud during work hours.
Aura: Don't let it happen again. Lowlife.
  • The Dragon: Aura, his assistant, and Moronta, the head of security, are Vadomal's loyal minions.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: The head maid informs Vadomal that Cristina was on the basement and it has been three days since she hasn't shown up for work, deducing that she was the one who broke into his mansion and decides to use her biggest weakness to force her to give them back: her family.
  • Helium Speech: Benito tries out a device on his steel armor that releases a cloud of smoke and causes a person's voice to become high-pitched. Due to Benito and Cristina inhaling from the helium they start talking like this. Still, Benito uses this opportunity to ask Cristina out on a date as a way to celebrate their recent victory, to which she agrees.
  • I Have Your Wife: Cristina's son Luisito and her sister Juana are kidnapped by Vadomal's men unless she gives the vials up.
  • Official Kiss: Cristina and Benito, especially the latter who has a crush on her.
  • Oh, Crap!: Cristina and Benito's reactions when they accidentally trigger the mansion's "intruder, alert" alarm.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Benito angrily leaves the group after Cristina and Benito blame him for almost screwing their whole mission up. He demands an apology from them as an ultimatum, only to get ignored.
Belisario: What's more, either you apologize to me or I'm gone.
    [Cristina and Benito ignore him]
Then Belisario goes:
Okay. Understood. This was never a team, nor it was meant to be one.
As he proceeds to leave, Cristina and Benito start staring in sadness, but return to their previous reactions. Finally, as he is on the verge of tears, Belisario gives out this line:
And don't ask me to come back.
  • Sequel Hook: Vadomal finally gets arrested for his crimes. However, the final scene shows him smirking when the driver is revealed to be one of his henchmen, leaving one wondering whether he'll take his revenge.
  • Team Title: Cristina, Benito and Belisario are known as Los Super in their superhero faction.
  • Training Montage: Cristina and Benito start training hardly inside a gym to become the guardians the city needs. On other scenes, Benito is shown trying out new devices that could serve as weapons.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: It remains unclear what happened to Aura and Moronta after Vadomal was arrested, and possibly taken somewhere else other than prison.
  • You Said You Would Let Them Go: Vadomal promises the release of her son and sister to Cristina if she gives the viruses up. However, Vadomal ultimately reneges on the deal and orders his men to take care of her and Benito.
Cristina: You already have what's yours, now let them go.
Vadomal: You convinced me. If you were working for Juan Pérez, you'd be less innocent. Make sure they don't get out.
