Jealous Gods is a 2016 film written and directed by Ari Bach concerning three college students who get their wishes granted.
Tropes:
- Be Careful What You Wish For: Each wish of the three people backfire horribly in various ways.
- Complete Immortality: Clarke wishes to become immortal. His body is stuck in a sort of stasis, unable to change in any way. He cannot get drunk, he cannot die, he cannot do anything to harm himself.
- Mind Control: Don wishes for mind control powers.
- Old Master: Lucky, or the "Wish Granting Grotto Guy" is a bearded old man who lives in a cave. He is suggested to be well over 100 years old.
- Teleporters and Transporters: Quail wishes for the power to teleport things.
- Three Wishes: Each of the three boys gets one wish.
- Wishing for More Wishes: Each of the three boys gets ONLY one wish. This trope is slightly subverted when Don asks for mind control powers, and then attempts to use these powers to make the magician give him more wishes.
