Graffiti Bridge is the third and final film starring Prince (who once again wrote and directed), and a semi-sequel to Purple Rain, released in 1990.
There are Tropes in the Temple Tonight:
- Aborted Arc: While this is a sequel of sorts to Purple Rain, Apollonia and the entirety of The Revolution are completely absent, the latter having been replaced by The New Power Generation.
- Coolest Club Ever: The Glam Slam, Pandemonium, and Melody Cool… though we only ever see the former two.
- Excuse Plot: It’s pretty clear that the plot of this movie mostly exists to string together some actually pretty good music sequences from Prince and friends.
- "I Am" Song: "New Power Generation" though it's more of a "we are" song.We are the New Power Generation, We want to change the world, The only thing that's in our way is you!
- The Last Dj: The Kid insists on playing his “spiritual noise” at the Glam Slam, much to Morris’s dismay.
