A 1973 American Made-for-TV Movie directed by John Llewellyn Moxey that has a scientist (Alex Cord) waking up from suspended animation and finding himself in a future primitive society.

The movie also stars Mariette Hartley, Ted Cassidy, Percy Rodrigues, Harvey Jason, Titos Vandis, Lynne Marta, Majel Barrett, Leon Askin, Liam Dunn, Scott Graham, and Beulah Quo.

It aired on March 23, 1973 on CBS.


Tropes for the film:

  • Agony Beam: The mutants have devices that inflict pain by touch. The devices can be set to deliver various levels of pain, from mild correction up to incapacitation.
  • Distant Prologue: The movie starts in 1979 with scientist Dylan Hunt taking part in an experiment in suspended animation. A collapse covers him up, and he's awakened 154 years later in the year 2133.
  • Human Popsicle: NASA scientist Dylan Hunt takes part in a suspended animation experiment, ends up sleeping a lot longer than he expected.
  • Slept Through the Apocalypse: Being accidentally trapped in a suspended animation experiment causes Dylan to miss World War III. When he wakes up, mutants are in control of the surface world.
