In a post-apocalyptic wasteland, people who survived the global war that ended civilization fight to survive as they're preyed on by ruthless roving gangs. One of these gangs' leaders, the Warlord, finds an android from the previous era which he feels certain will increase his power. This android, made in the image of a young human woman, is named Ash.

Meanwhile the Queen, the leader of a fertile region called the Oasis, is suffering gravely from a disease. To help, her son (called the Prince) leaves seeking a cure in the land named Paradise Beach, which he thinks is really a utopia. Soon enough, the Prince and Ash cross paths, with her disobeying the Warlord's orders to help him escape. The pair flee with the Warlord in hot pursuit, still seeking his mother's cure...

It's not to be confused with the 1976 sequel to Westworld, Futureworld.

Examples:

  • 20 Minutes into the Future: The setting before civilization's collapse doesn't appear to be too far off. Nothing except AI was shown as different.
  • Action Girl: Ash is a female android with inhuman strength and takes on several enemies in the film, killing them largely using just her bare hands.
  • After the End: The film is set after a war has destroyed civilization following humanity creating human-like androids.
  • All Bikers are Hells Angels: The Warlord leads a gang of murderous bikers who regularly raid other people.
  • And the Adventure Continues: The film ends with Ash riding off alongside Lei after saying she wants to find other androids, with a detour to take down Big Daddy Love Lord.
  • Ambiguously Absent Parent: The Prince goes on a quest to save his ill mother, the Queen. It's never said or shown if his father is alive though.
  • Apocalypse Anarchy: Since civilization fell, there is no central state, only different struggling small communities with gangs preying on them.
  • Apocalypse How: A global war after androids were invented caused civilization to collapse.
  • The Apunkalypse: The criminals post-collapse all seem to be dressed in ragged leather clothes of various punk-like designs.
  • Asshole Victim: The sadistic, murderous Warlord gets stabbed to death by Ash, while Big Daddy Love Lord, a sex slaver, is beaten to death by the women he had enslaved.
  • Boom, Headshot!: The Warlord shoots the Drug Lord right in the head at close range as they're grappling together.
  • Do Androids Dream?: Ash, after learning about souls from the Prince, asks if she's got one. He doesn't hasn't say she does, in his view, and Ash is grateful to hear this. Given how close Ash is to human, it seems pretty plausible she's got whatever humans do.
  • Duality Motif: Ash has blue and green eyes. This appears to signify that, although she looks completely human, she's really an android.
  • Evil Versus Evil: Toward the end, the Warlord raids the Drug Lord. Both are ruthless gand leaders, with the two fighting each other personally (he wins).
  • Exact Words: After the Prince wins in the fight that the Drug Lord made him do to get the cure for his mother's illness, he wants to leave with Ash. Then she notes that wasn't part of their deal, and Ash will stay.
  • Fanservice Extra: The sex slaves in Big Daddy Love Lord's brothel are shown very scantily clad with many dancing topless to entertain customers, though it's possibly fan disservice given their status.
  • Gladiator Games: The Drug Lord makes the Prince fight one of her men to get the cure for his mother's disease as she watches it with her people for entertainment. He manages to win, but then has to dig it out of the dead guy's stomach, as she had him swallow it beforehand.
  • Honey Trap: Ash is used as one to seduce the Prince to overpower him, grab his gun and she hands him over at the Warlord's order.
  • In the Back: Ash kills the Warlord this way, stabbing him repeatedly from behind.
  • Jack Bauer Interrogation Technique: The Warlord tortures the Prince by partially hanging him until he gives up information on his home.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: The Drug Lord's incensed after finding that Lei had had sex with Ash, whom she wanted for herself. She demands that Lei erase Ash's memory so she's "pure" again. This is subverted though as it doesn't happen, with the Warlord's raid letting them escape before Lei is forced into this.
  • Machete Mayhem: Few guns exist in the wasteland, so people often use machetes. Ash gets ahold of one to kill several of the Warlord's mooks in succession.
  • Machine Blood: Ash oozes bright green blood-like fluid when she's damaged.
  • Malevolent Masked Men:
    • The Warlord and his gang are introduced wearing fearsome masks while riding on their motorcycles.
    • Later, the Drug Lord's goons are Gas Mask Mooks since they work with dangerous substances.
  • Masculine–Feminine Gay Couple: Ash, a very feminine-looking female android with long hair and revealing clothing, becomes a couple with tomboyish mechanic Lei by the end.
  • Modesty Bedsheet: After they have sex offscreen, Ash lies against Lei with a blanket around her chest. When they get caught by the Drug Lord, she's careful to keep the blanket in place.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Ash is a very beautiful female android who's introduced completely naked (shot from the back) and spends most of the film wearing a revealing top that shows her bare stomach.
  • Naked on Arrival: Ash is first seen stark naked (from the back) alone in an abandoned warehouse.
  • Neck Snap: Ash kills a man in the Warlord's gang after he commands it this way.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: After the women he's enslaved are freed, they start beating Big Daddy Love Lord without mercy, indicating it's fatal.
  • No Name Given: The main villains the Warlord, Big Daddy Love Lord and the Drug Lord are only called by these titles or nicknames instead of their real ones. This also goes for the Prince and his mother the Queen.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Ash looks like a fairly petite, slender woman, though due to really being an android with Super-Strength even using her bare hands she's capable of dispatching opponents far larger during the film without difficulty.
  • The Promised Land: In the post-apocalyptic wasteland of the film, the Prince is convinced that Paradise Beach holds cures for any disease, which can help his sick mother. He also was told there people can live forever. So he heads out for there, though he's warned it isn't all he dreams. It turns out to just be a fantasy.
  • Psycho Lesbian: The Drug Lord, a ruthless and unhinged drug trafficker, is attracted to Ash, ordering she be reprogrammed to serve as her lover. Upon finding Ash and Lei together after having sex the previous night, she reacts in a jealous rage, ordering Ash's memory be wiped of this. She's no worse than the male Warlord though who also clearly wanted Ash. Given this and Ash's relationship too with Lei (who both are portrayed positively), it's downplayed.
  • The Queenpin: The Drug Lord's actually a woman with a sizeable gang who follow her.
  • Queer Establishing Moment:
    • Lei is shown to be queer when she kisses Robot Girl Ash. In a moment Ash is shown to be too by kissing her back before having sex with Lei offscreen.
    • It turns out that the Drug Lord, a woman, is into Ash as well since she gets very jealous on finding her with Lei.
  • Ragnarök Proofing: The Warlord and his gang all ride motorcycles, with no sign of how they get fuel or keep them in operational states.
  • Rape, Pillage, and Burn: The Warlord is introduced attacking a settlement in a factory with his gang, slaughtering everyone and stealing their possessions before setting fire to the area while they leave. He later does the same thing with Drug Town, while Ash states her certainity that he'd do this to Oasis too, after he and his gang raped them (although that's only mentioned, and not shown).
  • Religious Robot: When the Prince and she take shelter in the ruins of a church, Ash learns of the religious basics (souls, God, sins, prayers) from him. She's intrigued, trying to pray for help from God with him, but then shuts down from the damage to her system before doing so.
  • Restraining Bolt: Ash is initially compelled to obey whatever orders the Warlord issues her with a control device he has. It soon turns out she's capable of rebelling though, and breaks free in concert with a prisoner while the connection to the control device is damaged. She's not sure how this is possible at first, saying she must be malfunctioning. Eventually it's revealed she surpassed this control on her own, and she disobeys his orders to kill her loved ones.
  • Ridiculously Human Robots: Ash can easily pass as human, with the appearance of a young white woman. Though a lot of the time she's The Stoic, even so she displays genuine emotions and truly cares for people.
  • Robosexual: Ash is very attractive, built to appear like a beautiful young woman. She's desired by many humans because of that. The Warlord and the Drug Lord both want her, as does Lei. She only returns Lei's desires though, having sex with her, and they're a couple by the end of the film.
  • Robot Girl: Ash is an android who's basicially indistinguishable from a human, made in the form of a beautiful young woman. Except for her slightly metallic-looking blue eyes, nothing really gives it away at first.
  • Robot Soldier: Once humanity invented hard AI androids, they were used as soldiers, and this spiraled into a global war which completely destroyed civilization. Ash seems to be one, given her extensive combat skills (why she's made to appear like an attractive young woman is another question-possibly for infiltration however).
  • Sexbot: The Warlord intends Ash to be his "bride", and other people desire her as well (the Drug Lord wants her reprogrammed into a loving companion).
  • Sexy Discretion Shot: Ash and Lei are shown kissing as they start to undress, then lying together under the covers in bed on the next morning.
  • Sex Slave: Big Daddy Love Lord owns a bunch of attractive women whom he has strip and pimps at his night club.
  • Shock Collar: Big Daddy Love Lord's sex slaves all wear collars like this which can be triggered if they do something he doesn't like (or to amuse a customer).
  • Slave Liberation: Ash and Lei get the women Big Daddy Love Lord enslaved freed at the end, leaving him to a lethal beatdown at their hands.
  • Speculative Fiction LGBT: Ash, a very human-like android, shares a mutual attraction with Lei, a young woman she meets who has mechanical skills, and they sleep together. Later the pair are a couple.
  • The Stinger: After the film's credits have mostly passed, a final scene shows that Ash and Lei freed the sex slaves in Big Daddy Love Lord's brothel.
  • Stripperiffic: Ash is a lovely Robot Soldier who's dressed in a top which shows off her stomach along with cleavage while she's wearing tight pants too. This makes some sense as the Warlord, who wants her for sexual use, gave her the outfit.
  • Super-Strength: Ash looks like a fairly slight, slim woman but is capable of lifting up and killing larger men with her bare hands.
  • Tanktop Tomboy: Lei, a female tomboyish mechanic, wears a tanktop beneath her coveralls.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Ash is a very feminine android who has the look of a beautiful young woman, long-haired in stripperific clothing. Lei meanwhile is a more tomboyish mechanic who wears coveralls. It's downplayed as Ash is a hard-edged action girl though and Lei is pretty average in personality. They become lovers and ride off at the end.
  • Toplessness from the Back: Ash is introduced from behind as she's standing nude, showing her bare back and buttocks.
  • Wrench Wench: Lei is a woman who's a very skilled mechanic. She wears blue-gray coveralls and expertly patches up Ash's damaged torso.
