Feast of the Seven Fishes is a 2019 Christmas movie written and directed by Robert Tinnell and based on his graphic novel of the same name.

The film stars Skyler Gisondo as a young business student living with his very Italian family in Fairmont, West Virginia in 1983. As the holiday approaches, the story follows its Ensemble Cast as they bask in tradition and seek companionship into the future. Also featuring Madison Iseman, Josh Helman, Addison Timlin, and Joe Pantoliano.

Tropes present:

  • The '80s: Set in the year 1983.
  • Almost Kiss: Between Tony and Beth outside the house on Christmas before they're interrupted by Prentice.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: The golden-haired Beth is one of the most open-minded characters in the whole film.
  • Hate Sink: Beth's mother (and her boyfriend, by extension) exist solely to pressure Beth into accepting a life she doesn't want.
  • My Beloved Smother: Beth's mother is overprotective and tries to control her daughter's relationship.
  • Nice Guy: Both Tony and Juke, though Juke is a pretty much non-romantic example.
  • Not Good with Rejection: Tony is trying to move on, but Katie really doesn't want to.
  • Rambunctious Italian: Tony's whole family pretty much falls into this.
  • Running Gag: The baccala. They didn't change the water enough!
