El Ángel is a 2019 Argentinian crime film vaguely based on the real-life crimes of Carlos Robledo Puch.
The movie follows Carlitos, a young man who steals for pleasure, until he meets Ramón and falls in love with him. Ramón's family will lead Carlitos to bigger crimes and will be treated as their stepson. The path will become deadlier when Carlitos's feelings start to control him and his psychopathic nature bleeds into his actions.
- Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon : The main promotional aesthetic of the film and the real story is that Carlitos is beautiful like an angel and innocent looking. When the story came out, the press was shocked about his appeareance because stereotypes of uglyness and crime were broken. This was a good looking, middle class child who turned out to be a psychopathic murderer.
