Tropes for the film:

  • Littlest Cancer Patient: There are several of them. The drawings they churn out illustrating their nearly-identical dreams border on Room Full of Crazy, but Joe tracks down the symbols to realize the kids aren't just hallucinating on meds.
  • Nightmare Fuel Coloring Book: Joe's dead wife tries to reach him through the terminally ill children she cared for in the hospital. They begin drawing unnervingly similar pictures of rainbows (which they say are "loud"), and squiggly crosses which appear to be (but are not) dragonflies.
  • One-Word Title: Dragonfly.
  • Tagline: "When someone you love dies...are they gone forever?"
