Deranged is a 2012 British horror film directed by Neil Jones and starring Marcia Vales, Craig Fairbrass, Victoria Broom, Natalia Celino and Tabitha Quitman.

A bachelorette party at a secluded Spanish villa turns bloody for four young women being stalked by a vicious killer. As the body count rises, the remaining survivors realize their only hope for survival is to fight back with everything they've got. But who is targeting them, and why?

Tropes:

  • Angry Guard Dog: Anthony's dog Max who lives at the villa. He bites Gabriella, and Gabriella seems to think the dog turned on her because it felt threatened by the presence of someone else in the grounds. The dog prowling the grounds stops the girls leaving the house when things start going wrong.
  • Axe Before Entering: When Silvia and the stripper lock themselves in Mary's bedroom, the killer smashes through the door with an axe.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Gabriella succeeds in killing everyone.
  • Bedsheet Ladder: When the killer starts to bash down the door to Mary's bedroom with an axe, Silvia and the stripper make a rope out of bed sheets and throw it out the window. Silvia climbs down while the stripper stays behind to slow down the killer.
  • Cell Phones Are Useless: When the girls arrive at the villa, they discover there is no phone signal.
  • Chainsaw Good: Final Girl Silvia finds a chainsaw in the garden shed and uses it to take on the axe-wielding killer in their final confrontation.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Gabriella who murders her three best friends because she believes they are obsessed with her fiance and a threat to her future happiness.
  • Cut Phone Lines: When Anna tries to call the police, she discovers that not only is the phone not plugged in but there is not even anywhere to plug it in.
  • Danger Takes A Back Seat: Anna makes it past the Angry Guard Dog and into the car. However, when she tries to start it, a figure in black rises from the back seat, wraps an arm around her throat and stabs her.
  • Faking the Dead: Gabriella pretends to die from a seizure and then leaves a Sleeping Dummy under the blanket covering her 'corpse' as she sneaks out to murder the others.
  • Extremely Short Timespan: Less than 24 hours. Gabriella picks her friends up from the airport, they drive the few hours to the villa, and the film ends before dawn.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Silvia is so obnoxious from the moment she appears on screen that it comes across as if none of her so-called friends can stand her.
  • It Works Better with Bullets: Silvia finds the killer's gun and uses it to shoot the killer, believing that she has killed them. However, she later uses the gun to try to put down the wounded dog. When nothing happens, she discovers that the gun is loaded with blanks, as the killer rises up behind her.
  • Mile-High Club: Silvia comes off the plane gloating about her recently acquired induction into the mile-high club.
  • Rule of Pool: Silvia pushes the fully clothed Mary into the pool at the villa.
  • Saw It in a Movie Once: When the girls try to get past Max the Angry Guard Dog, Mary says she knows what to do because she saw it on The Dog Whisperer. Needless to say it doesn't work.
  • Slashed Throat: Mary has her throat slashed as she bends over Gabriella's corpse.
  • Sleeping Dummy: After Faking the Dead, Gabriella leaves a pile of cushions under the blanket covering her 'corpse' as she sneaks out to murder everyone else.
