Death Factory is a 2002 disaster horror slasher film written and directed by Brad Sykes.

A worker in a biological facility contracts a virus and mutates into a creature that craves human blood. The facility is shut down for years until teens break in to have a party and come face to face with the hungry beast.

A 2008 sequel titled Death Factory: Bloodletting was released that had very little connection to the original story.

Not connected to The Butchers, which was also released under the Market-Based Title of Death Factory.

Tropes:

  • Abandoned Warehouse: Six teenagers who sneak into an abandoned chemical factory where a disaster happened when they were all still children.
  • Blood Is the New Black: Alexa smears herself with the blood of her victims.
  • Building of Adventure: Apart from a couple of establishing scenes on a college campus, and the epilogue in a hospital, the entire film is set in an abandoned factory.
  • The Cameo: Porn star Ron Jeremy has a brief cameo as Glen the hobo.
  • Drugs Are Good: A boy with a DARE bumper sticker is a big stoner and drinker.
  • Extremely Short Timespan: Barring the epilogue, all the events of the film occur on the same day.
  • Eye Scream: Leticia is cornered by Alexa and has her eyes pressed in until she's killed.
  • Fangs Are Evil: The virus has transformed Alexa into razor-sharp metal fangs resembling shark's teeth.
  • Groin Attack: Alexa castrates Francis by squishing his testicles until they pop.
  • Gutted Like a Fish: Alexa, with sharp teeth and steel scalpels affixed to her fingers leaps on Troy in the hallway, opening his stomach and squeezing out his liver and intestines while Troy's girlfriend, Alyson, screams.
  • Final Girl: Rachel is the only one of the teens to survive the slaughter in the factory. She is the only one who doesn't get drunk and high on marijuana, and Louisa jokes that her parents want her to remain a virgin.
  • Haunted House Historian: Troy is able to relate the factory's history to the others. Dyson Chemical had severely injured a worker in an industrial accident, and the worker became ill from the effects of the unknown toxin she had been exposed to, sent home without compensation. Presumed dead, she later returned to Dyson Chemical and slaughtered each of her colleagues, after which the factory was shut down. Troy knows all this because he had a friend whose uncle was one of the cops investigating the massacre.
  • Hoist by Her Own Petard: Rachel is finally able to overpower Alexa by knocking her down and stabbing her with her own scalpel-accented hands.
  • I Am a Humanitarian: Alexa eats the flesh and drinks the blood of her victims.
  • Making Love in All the Wrong Places: Multiple characters decide that an abandoned chemical factory that was the site of a massacre years before is the perfect place to have sex. They are killed shortly afterwards
  • The Place
  • Scary Teeth: Alexa has sharp metal teeth like a shark's.
  • Sequel Hook: Rachel is finally able to overpower Alexa by knocking her down and stabbing her with her own scalpel-accented hands. Rachel faints, later waking up in a hospital where the doctor informs her that she is the sole survivor of the massacre in the factory. Unbeknownst to Rachel, Alexa has also survived, and is still loose in the factory, waiting for more victims.
  • Sex Signals Death: In true slasher movie tradition, anyone who has sex invariably becomes Alexa's next victim.
  • Smoking Hot Sex: After having sex in the abandoned chemical factory, Francis and Leticia share a cigarette before Francis goes to take a leak, and is murdered by Alexa.
  • Wolverine Claws: Alexa's primary weapon is steel scalpels affixed to her fingers.
