Chōriki Sentai Ohranger: Ohré vs. Kakuranger is a 1996 direct-to-video movie which depicts a crossover between Chouriki Sentai Ohranger and Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, marking the start of the annual Super Sentai "Vs. Series" of movies which feature the current Sentai team teaming up with the previous one, after the original crossover film J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai vs. Goranger 16 years earlier.

When Prince Buldont tries to prove himself by challenging his father, Bacchushund, to a contest of who can destroy the Ohrangers first with a new Yokai monster: Onbu-Obake, the Ohrangers must seek help from the Yokai-hunting Kakurangers to put a stop to this new threat.

This movie would be adapted into the two-part Power Rangers Zeo episode, "Rangers of Two Worlds", which features the Zeo Rangers teaming up with the Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers.

This movie contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Actor Allusion: In the Wild West scene, where the male rangers are cornered by cowboys with guns, Chief Miura shows up wearing a black leather cowboy hat, playing a certain tune on a guitar...
  • Big Bad Ensemble: Bacchushund and Bulldont compete to see who can defeat the Ohrangers first and employ separate monsters to fight the teams with.
  • Continuity Snarl: This movie features the Oh Blocker, Tackle Boy and Gunmazin. This is despite the fact the movie is set when Emperor Bacchushund is still alive as is his contest with Buldont what kicks the plot off, whereas Oh Blocker's first battle was precisely the battle where Bacchushund was put out of action for good (he was still alive but was left as only a head) and the other two appeared after he was succeeded by the usurper, Bomber the Great. The only way for this film to even remotely fit into continuity would be by replacing Bacchushund with Bomber the Great and even then...
  • Crossover: A slightly less pronounced one compared to other Versus movies but still counts as the Kakurangers play major roles as guides to the Ohrangers to defeat Onbu-Obake.
  • Fanservice: The scene by the river where the Ohranger girls try to lure Onbu-Obake is a big one, showcasing them in revealing bikinis while bathing.
  • Humongous Mecha: The Ohranger mecha appears, but the Kakuranger mecha does not. It would not be until the second Vs. movie, Carranger vs. Ohranger, where the mecha of both teams would feature.
  • In the Name of the Moon: For the Vs. movie, both teams give their roll call in succession. In this case, the current team (Ohranger) goes first, followed by the previous team (Kakuranger).
    Goro: "OhRed!"
    Shohei: "OhGreen!"
    Yuji: "OhBlue!"
    Juri: "OhYellow!"
    Momo: "OhPink!"
    Ohrangers: "Chouriki Sentai... Ohranger!"
    Riki: "KingRanger!"
    Sasuke: "NinjaRed, Sasuke!"
    Jiraiya: "NinjaBlack, Jiraiya!"
    Saizou: "NinjaBlue, Saizou!"
    Seikai: "NinjaYellow, Seikai!"
    Tsuruhime: "NinjaWhite, Tsuruhime!"
    Kakurangers: "Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, revealed!"
  • Monster Clown: Onbu-obake turns into one for two scenes (second of which is...rather unfortunate), for some reason. Interestingly, its concept art had this form be a Creepy Crossdresser instead.
  • Versus Title
