Capps Crossing is a Horror Movie by Mike Stahl.
Three couples consisting of Rob (Alex Acosta) and Robin (Ashley Sullivan), Kyle (Marcus Parker) and Kara (Isabel Siragusa), and Justin (Parker Alexander) and Jessica (Quenya Tuck) have decided to spend three days in a part of the woods known as Capps Crossing. While there, the intent (at least for Justin) is to go out and do some geocaching. They brought their tents, their GPSs, and Justin brought loads of beer, so they seem all set to have a good time.
While there, they meet another guy, a hiker named David (Brian Corey). He's been coming to Capps Crossing for some time now, and knows his way around the woods. They don't interact for long, though, and David goes his own way.
However, David may have some not-too-pleasant plans for the others.
The movie was released on June 9th, 2017.
Capps Crossing contains examples of:
- Alliterative Name: David's second on-screen kill is a man named Jeremy Johnson.
- Alliterative Title: Capps Crossing.
- Blood from the Mouth: Jessica lets some out when David kills her by stabbing her with the stick that he was whittling.
- Bond One-Liner: David gives one after driving his knife into Kyle's eye.David: Damn, dude. You got something in your eye. (removes knife) Thanks. Can you see now?
- An Arm and a Leg: Jeremy finds a severed hand in a geocache container.
- The Can Kicked Him: Robin dies in an outhouse.
- Cassandra Truth: Justin was telling the truth when he said he wasn't spying on Robin (it's implied it was David), but nobody believes him.
- Chekhov's Gun: A literal example. The gun Rob secretly shows off earlier in the movie becomes his weapon against David.
- Don't Go in the Woods: Specifically, don't go into Capps Crossing. David isn't too fond of intruders.
- Eye Scream: David stabs Kyle in the eye with his knife in the climax.
- Flashback: We get treated to a few over the course of the movie. The first one refers to the story Ranger Mills tells the campers, and the others are about how David found his girlfriend dead, and killed her father for supposedly being the killer.
- Flipping the Bird: Kyle is seen doing this when the group are having fun at the waterfall.
- The Friend Nobody Likes: The group seems to view Justin this way, especially considering how they talk about him after thinking he was spying on Robin.
- Handguns: Rob brought one without the others knowing. He uses it in the climax to shoot David.
- Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Robin has a stick driven through her torso from behind, coming out her front.
- Jerkass: Justin, mainly due to his dude-bro tendencies.
- Not Me This Time: Justin says this word-for-word when everyone accuses him of peeping on Robin.
- The Peeping Tom: When Robin is changing in her tent, we see someone (possibly David) record her undressing. He retreats when Justin shouts.
- The Place: The film is named after the region of forest it's set in.
- Slashed Throat: David kills a couple of girls by opening their throats.
- Sweetie Graffiti: The group finds several instances of David + Tracey scrawled all over a bridge, dating from 1990 to 2006.
- They Look Just Like Everyone Else!: David. Unlike most Slasher Film killers, you'd never guess he was a psycho at first glance. He really seems like a guy you'd want to be friends with, and is always dressed up in hiking gear.
- Time Skip: The prologue of the movie shows a scene that's accompanied by a caption stating "One Year Ago". Once the prologue's done, the movie jumps ahead to "The Present Day".
