American Scarecrow is a Slasher Movie by Steve Lustgarten.

A group of contractors have to go fix up the old Dean family farm in a small town to get a much-needed payment. The locals avoid the area, stating that one day, the patriarch of the Dean family snapped one day and murdered his wife.

Once they get there, they begin scoping out the area and one of them discovers a diary belonging to the young girl of the family, Mira Dean. Soon enough, they find out that someone dressed up as a Scary Scarecrow is on the farm, and he doesn't like them there.

The film was released on October 26th, 2020.


American Scarecrow contains examples of:

  • American Title: This trope wouldn't apply had the movie not been called "American Scarecrow".
  • An Arm and a Leg: Brother cuts off a man's hand in one shot.
  • Bloodless Carnage: When Brother kills his second victim, there isn't any blood.
  • Duct Tape for Everything: The man who got his hand cut off uses duct tape to reattach it.
  • Dwindling Party: The movie starts with 6-8 people. There's only two left by the movie's end.
  • Robotic Reveal: As it turns out, Brother was mortally wounded in the army, and had to be rebuilt as a robot to survive.
  • Sinister Scythe: Brother's weapon of choice is a sickle.
  • Slashed Throat: Brother slashed Joey's throat to kill him.
  • This Is a Drill: During a fight against the brother, one of the group drills into his back.
