Tropes

  • Accidental Murder:
    • One of the very first things going downhill is Anastazja accidentally murdering Marek while having sex with a loaded gun in her hand.
    • Oliwia dies in Filip's hands when she has an epileptic attack, but he's holding her so she won't make a sound, but ends up kicking away her medicine and she dies before he realizes what's happening.
    • A lot of deaths in the party massacre are an accident. They're caused by a struggle between one of the party girls and Filip, while they fight, she is holding a gun and accidentally shooting people. Their struggle ends with him throwing her at the TV, causing it to fall down on the wet ground and electrocute everyone in the room, killing them. Even during the big Brawl, Filip dies when Gloria hits him on the head with a bottle because Jordan dodged her.
  • Age-Gap Romance: Between Pawel and Gloria, who are 17 years apart. While he is in love with her, she is only in it for a fling, because she doesn't really think he cares for her more than as a current thing he has for older women that won't last once the realities of their age gap set in.
  • Connected All Along: Gloria turns out to be Filip's mother.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • The beginning shows how and where certain characters will die.
    • Early on, Anastazja mentions her interest in alternate realities. The movie ends on an alternate reality where everything is infinitely better, on Daniel and Anjelika's wedding, though it's implied things went downhill there as well.
    • One of the detectives offers the other some toilet paper from the crime scene when he pukes, though he is immediately mentioned to have altered the crime scene, but brushes it off. Turns out the toilet paper had the suicide letter from the pizza guy that killed himself, and it might have contained a cure for Alzheimer.
    • An early joke has a character mentioning how another wanted to golden shower her. This comes back later, when Daniel and Anjelika do that during their sex scene.
    • There are a number of jokes made at Rafal and Robert's sexuality expense. Rafal indeed turns out to be gay and dating Marek.
    • The story that Gloria tells Pawel of how their relationship would break down is oddly specific and full of details. It's because it is the real story of how her previous marriage with Filip's dad broke down.
  • Interplay of Sex and Violence:
    • Anastazja is extremely turned on by the thought of using a gun and while she is being taught how to use it, she uses that as foreplay before they have sex, during which she is still holding the gun, itself which ends with her shooting and killing Marek by accident.
    • The party massacre happens interplayed with Daniel and Anjelika having great sex for the first time in their life together.
  • Relationship Reveal: Marek and Rafal turn out to be in a relationship, revealed when Rafal goes looking for his partner, only to find Marek's corpse.
  • Sole Survivor: Anastazja is the only survivor of the party, being carried out in the next morning, and even then, she still has quite the injury by falling on her neck.
  • A Threesome Is Hot: One of the French Jehovah Witness is pushed into a threesome by two of the party's girls.
  • Wedding Finale: The movie ends with Daniel and Anjelika marrying in a heavenly version of the room the movie took place on, implied to be an alternative reality.
