Fanon / Stardew Valley

Go To

The world of Stardew Valley has attracted a great number of Fan Works creators, from Fan Fiction to Game Mods. Many of these works use common ideas that the fans consider to be true:

  • In many fanworks, Junimos speak in Third-Person Person and You No Take Candle fashion, in the actual game they speak their own language and the Farmer is able to understand them, also the messages they say when restoring the Community Center shows them to be quite eloquent.
  • In some mods individual Junimos have a fruit Theme Naming, like Apples and Peaches or Kiwi and Lil Acorn.
  • In many fanworks, the Gotoro Empire has a Japanese-inspired culture and aesthetic, and their people have Japanese-sounding names, like Suki and Haruhi.
  • In fanon, the Wizard's first name tends to be "Magnus", which was popularized by Stardew Valley Expanded.
  • Linus being a disillusioned founder or co-founder of the Joja Corporation who became disgusted with what he created is a popular headcanon among fans.
  • Many fanworks have Sebastian be a natural redhead like his mother, and that his black hair is a result of him dyeing it. Considering one of his best friends is Abigail, who dyed her hair purple, it's not too farfetched.
  • In canon, the "Adventurer's Guild" is merely a pair of lonely old has-been hermits, clearly a parody of such guilds in other media. However, many fanworks like to portray them as genuine heroes, with the Stardew Valley "branch" of the Guild being part of a much larger organization tasked with defending humanity. Fanon also likes to tie them in with the Wizard Rasmodius, even having him be a member or leader of the Guild, while no such affiliation is ever implied in the game itself.
  • Because in her 14 heart event, Haley decides to help Penny, in fanon it is assumed that they were childhood friends who drifted apart as they grew up.
