These are recommendations made by Tropers for Fan Fics, all of which have been signed. After a few samples, you will be able to judge whether you might be interested in the 'fic, based on who recommended it. No-name recommendations will be zapped. Nobody would back up the rec. Discussion of the recommendation is welcome on the discussion page. As such discussion is important, do remember to add the discussion page to the watchlist, if need be.
Do warn when a fanfic may head into non-canon territory. Some people just don't like it, and as we all know, Shipping is Serious Business.

Has written some of the best and most recent works added to the archive. Her mastery of characterization is so superlative she could replace any character's name with Bob and the reader would still know who it is from how they are written.
Eleos Argentum This author is a representative of the broad Spanish-speaking fanbase of Zatch Bell. She writes exclusively in Spanish, but that should be no obstacle, with internet browsers having built-in translators. This author's talent and focus is comedy and parody, something to appreciate in series known for its humor. Her works are just the place to go if you are looking for a laugh.

- Synopsis: "Ishimaru Kamikatsu met a kid and scolded him for smoking. That same kid presented him a green book and took him on an adventure he would never forget full of challenges, enemies, and treasures. No longer accepting Original Characters. Now in the 3rd arc!"
- Comments: Already has its own trope page, and rightfully so. A new tournament means we, the readers, get to see how King Zatch is running the Mamodo World (or Makai). As such, it is an OC fic, but is considered well done. Worth a read.
Zatch Bell: Introductions by MilesTailsPrower-007

- Synopsis: "The story of how Professor Seitarou Takamine and Zatch met in the first place. Just who is this strange boy, and why can't he remember anything? Perhaps the red book has something to do with it."
- Comments: This is a masterful Zatch Bell fanfiction that is unlike any I've read in regard to how much it respects cannon material. The story reads very much like a one-shot on the same topic by Raiku-sensei himself. The author's faithfulness to the characters is the selling point of the story, which is supported entirely by the interactions between Zatch and Seitarou. It all comes together to tell a very believable story of how Seitarou came to have faith that Zatch could reeducate Kiyomaro.

- Synopsis: "One thousand years ago, there was another mamodo battle, one where half the participants got turned into a stone tablet and King Bell became, well, king. It would have been awfully convenient for things like fast transport methods and worldwide used common languages to have existed. Too bad, this was the Middle Ages, and the human world sucked."
- Comments: A very clever and funny take on the battle of one-thousand years ago. There are some OCs, but they are not significant. Fan favorites are featured. Published on September of 2019, this fic keeps alive the hope that there are still people who care enough about this series to write for it, making adding it here all the more worth it.

- Synopsis: "She'd given him an important request: Become the benevolent king their world deserved. She knew he would heed it - all she had to do was wait."
- Comments: This story is rife with spoilers. Told from the rare perspective of Kolulu, it does an incredible job of creating tension despite the fact that you already know what the story is going over. The reader is very much put in the shoes of the characters.
Have You Ever Worked for a Drunkard Who Beat You? by flipomatic

She restrained the urge to rub her left cheek as she picked up the envelope and opened it gingerly. 30 dollars sat inside, enough money to feed her family of orphans for just a little while longer."

- Synopsis: "Life goes on even after the end of the demon king competition, but not as pleasantly as some would like. Thankfully the denizens of the demon world have taken it into their own hands to solve the separation problem. Unfortunately, the process invites as much trouble as it does happiness."
- Comments: This is is the reunion fic every Zatch Bell fan has always wanted. Articulate prose that sucks you in. Flawless characterization. Tugs at your heartstrings for a sweet melody. The only problem is that it hasn't been updated since 2016, and the author unabashedly admits to an irregular update schedule and no commitment to finish anything. Still, the chapters that are currently up are well worth reading.
