Proof that the remaining 10% is worth dying for here:

These are recommendations made by tropers for Fan Fics, all of which have been signed. After a few samples, you will be able to judge whether you might be interested in the 'fic, based on who recommended it. No-name recommendations will be zapped. Nobody would back up the rec. Discussion of the recommendation is welcome on the discussion page. As such discussion is important, do remember to add the discussion page to the watchlist, if need be.

Do warn when a fanfic may head into non-canon territory. Some people just don't like it, and as we all know, Shipping is Serious Business.

Gen Fics

Undo, Won't You by SmileDesu

  • Recc'd by Pitac 89
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: “You’re supposed to be a really powerful spellcaster, right? So can’t you, you know, un-gay yourself?” Billy realized with dread that Tommy was expecting him to answer that question.
  • Comments: While the points Tommy raises could be considered offensive to some, Tommy's not being malicious but rather looking after his brother in his own mildly sociopathic way.

Therapy Sessions by Mici

  • Recc'd by Pitac 89
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Billy is thwarted in his career as a villain but at least the therapy is interesting.
  • Comments: Short, sweet, and complete and utter crack.

A Study in Scarlet Witches by BenWisehart

  • Rec'd by n00dl3gal
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: She’s happy to see him. She always is, but the unexpectedness and late hour of the visit catch her off guard, and she can’t help but worry, wonder if he’s okay. “What’s the matter? Is everything alright?” Tommy is flustered and nervous when he finally responds. “I want to be the next Scarlet Witch,” he blurts out. Wanda blinks. “You had better come inside, then.”
  • Comments: An amazing AU where Tommy, instead of Billy, becomes Wanda's successor. Features Tommy and Billy being the best bros, Wanda and Tommy bonding over magic, and a healthy dash of humor. Background Billy/Teddy.

The Light Has Gone Out Of My Life, by akaikit/fontech.

  • Recommended by kirana44
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: “Till death do us part.” When Teddy is gone and Billy finds himself powerless, it's all he can do to hold himself together in the aftermath.
  • Pairings: Billy/Teddy
  • Comments: I literally have no words for this fic, it's absolutely heart-rending. A tearjerker if there ever was one, and with a real twist ending that works so well.

Teenage Wasteland and Space Oddity by Khirsah.

  • Recommended by MianPi
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Billy and Teddy's lives bisected prior to becoming Wiccan and Hulkling as they deal with school, friends, bullies, teenage angst, and their own identities.
  • Pairings: Billy/Teddy
  • Comments: This is a beautiful character study of both Billy and Teddy as they try to discover who they are while dealing with their feelings towards one another. Also includes wonderful slices of life of Marvel's New York such as super power additions to the Museum of Sex and heart-wrenching insights to Teddy's character with his relationship with his mother and Greg.

Nothing Changes by PantyDragon

  • Recommended by MianPi
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: "Either Loki grew into this new body on the simple virtues of good genetics or Billy's loneliness got the better of him. At least, that's Loki's rationale."
  • Pairings: Loki/Billy
  • Comments: This utterly in-character, to the point where it could be a cut scene from YA Vol 2. Loki is the same manipulative godling whose seduction and Mind Rape of Billy is chilling, but his conflicted feelings also set him up for his character arc at the end of the Mother arc.

Don't Stand in the Fire by cellardoor

  • Recommended by bookzen
  • Status: Dormant
  • Synopsis: "All Billy wanted was to fend off the burning legion and get a sweet new staff. How did it all get so complicated?"
  • Parings: Billy/Teddy
  • Comments: An awesome MMORPG AU (in the style of World of Warcraft). Everyone's in character, and it's well written.

The Colors Beneath His Skin

  • Recommended by Fullmetal Heart 20
  • Synopsis: "The tattoo shop AU you never knew you wanted. Years ago, Nate, Eli, America and Tommy opened 'Patriots' together. Now Nate's moved on and a new piercer - tall, blond, perfect - has taken his place. Billy's nowhere near as cool as his twin brother, and there's no way this new guy, this god among men, this Teddy Altman, would ever be interested in plain old Billy Kaplan...would he?"
  • Pairings: Billy/Teddy
  • Comments: Beautiful AU with well adjusted backstories to match. Patriots starts to feel like a character all it's own. Billy and Kate act like bestows, Billy and Tommy act like bros, and Billy and Teddy have smooches.
    • Update: fic has been deleted. Author has revamped and published it as High Contrast, availible on Amazon.

Crossover Fics

Feel by Sushi Champ

  • Recommended by Aetherina
  • Status: Complete
  • Crossover with Runaways
  • Synopsis: When hit with an attack that leaves all the other Young Avengers and the Runaways on their knees, on the verge of suicide, in a state of despair and self loathing, Tommy is left unaffected. Eli thinks it's because he's a sociopath, but Molly realizes the truth, and the truth is so much worse. Because the truth is that Tommy always feels that depressed and worthless.
  • Comments: Well-written, a good plot, and explores Molly and Tommy's friendship.

Into the Black by DangerousCommieSubversive

  • Recommended by MianPi
  • Status: Dormant
  • Crossover with Firefly
  • Pairing(s): Billy/Teddy, Noh Varr/Tommy, America/Kate
  • Synopsis: Mercenary space captain Kate Bishop's got a loyal crew (mostly), an unreliable space ship (hey don't you say that Dawn's Archer is perfect), some unresolved anger issues (some faces that need grinding that is), and a lot of moral gray areas that she likes to play around in as she roams the galaxy, taking whatever jobs she can find. When her ship takes on some unusual passengers, however, everything goes completely off the rails.
  • Comments: This is a funny, erotic, and occasionally touching crossover between two amazing genres. While a lot of the plots are drawn specifically from Firefly, the story is tweaked to fit the characters and Marvel Universe as a whole. Any and all knowledge of the Marvel Universe and its characters is rewarded in spades!

Spider-Man: The Young Avenger by Starkiller93

  • Recommended by bbb35
  • Crossover with: Spider-Man
  • Status: Ongoing
  • Synopsis: All it took was a simple spider bite and Peter Parker's life changes forever. Watch as he tries to balance High School, a job, a girlfriend (which is a whole other can of worms...or should it be ants?), oh, and being a big time superhero who's a member of The Avengers...sort of.
