- Synopsis: Maria's POV set after the end of West Side Story with inspiration from the 1961 film and Natalie Wood. After Tony's death, who will Maria reveal her secret to? How does she cope with Tony's death? Will she have the strength to forgive Chino and Anita?
- Comments: A believable sequel, picking up some of the original story's loose ends. Maria continues, with varying success, in her attempts to maintain peace between the two gangs while simultaneously coping with her pregnancy; the story details her revelations to her own and to Tony's parents, her conversation with Chino in prison, the support she receives from Anita and Baby John, her thought processes regarding the child growing inside of her, and the development of her inner strength. This fanfiction is heartwarming without being overly sentimental, and runs with the narrative themes underlying West Side Story.
