These are recommendations made by tropers for Transformers fanfics, all of which have to be signed to stay on the page. After a few samples, you will be able to note the interests of the tropers recommending them, and judge whether you might be also interested in a certain 'fic.
Feel free to add a fanfic of your own to the list, but remember to use the template found herenote . Do warn when a fanfic may head into sexualnote or non-canon territory. Some people just don't like it, and as we all know, Shipping is Serious Business.
Reviews of fics are encouraged, but if you choose to write one, please make it substantive, and give specific details about what you liked / disliked in the fic. If you want to give a fic a thumbs-up without writing a full review, you can add your troper handle to the Recommendations Line. Please refrain from posting "Comments" or Conversation in the Main Page though; that goes in the discussion page.

- Another very character driven writer, Aspirare is one of those true gems of an author who's just a pleasure to read. While she tends to write for Sam/Bumblebee and Ironhide/Ratchet, many of her fics have few or no pairings at all. Her writing is just wonderful and smart, and her later fics especially have this beautiful, dark eeriness to them, she can play you, and your heartstrings, like a virtuoso, and leaves you as enchanted as you are disturbed. - A brilliant author, who tends to focus on the less prominent characters of Bayverse and G1. Casus Fere's Vortex fics, particularly "Under Scrutiny", "The ExProblem", and "A Rock and a Hard Place", are definitely the best Black Comedy this troper ever had the fortune to see. Besides Vortex and the Combaticons, (s)he also writes for many other characters such as Smokescreen, Red Alert and Inferno, the Wreckers, Blackout, and more.

- A great author with one series that created three pairings for TFP, June Darby/Megatron, Miko/Bumblebee and Arcee/Shockwave. Mixes Prime canon with some of the comics and G1, and really fleshes out the characters. Her current story, Blast from the Past focuses on the characters' histories and gives great depth to them. Some grammar mistakes due to english not being her first language, but she is great.

- Envy Skort is an writer/artist who has compiled an exceedingly entertaining and rather insightful collection of transformer comics comprised of both G1 and Transfomer Prime continuities. Some are one shots and short two-parters, while others, such as A Very Decepticon Christmas, span over one hundred pages. She also seems to have a soft spot for minions and the less utilized characters, such as Cosmos. Also, her Smug Scream. Primus, her SmugScream...
- Seconded wholeheartedly. The range of facial expressions is amazing to see, especially the contrast between Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp. Everyone is surprisingly identifiable and in-character, but are just put in the most ridiculous situations, leading to such phenomenons such as Depressed!Hook, Big Damn Hero!Cosmos, Fanboy!Blitzwing, etc. The dialogue is excellent, and the artist's notes are hilarious sort-of Non Sequiturs. Tons of Heartwarming Moments buried in each comic, as well as a Funny Moment almost every page. Go read.

- Easily has some of the best stories this troper has read, ever, her War Eternal series in particular. Her fics mostly focus on the relationships between all the bots, but she also writes wonderful fight scenes, and her sense of humor is in no way lacking either. Some parts can get a little cheesy at times, but overall, this is one author you don't want to miss out on. Not to mention, her OCs (most notably Chase Banes and Virus/Moonfly) are absolutely wonderful and very well fleshed out. Definitely worth browsing her stuff.

- Okay; I know I've recommended 2 of this person's fics. But they're a good writer and they handle their topics well...even if they seem to like torturing Jack a bit much. While not exceptional, if you have some time to kill, Inkcrafter is worth your time.

- Just everything by her is just amazing. She wrote an amazing series focusing on a young Bumblebee (ages could range from toddler to child to teenager-ish) and his interactions with others, particularly with Optimus and Ironhide (and even Megatron). She does a great job on characterizations, adding humor, fluff and angst in a perfect balance. Some of her stories include Nightmare, Little Brother and Youngling.

- Why did I choose a fanfiction writer instead of a website? Simple: she's the whole reason I became a Transformers fan! Seriously, read her stories - they are fantastic with a capital F. Admittedly, her grammer isn't very good (she's French), but that doesn't detract from the awesomeness of her stories. Oh, a quick warning to you slash haters: she's a huge slash fan, especially where Megatron and Starscream are involved. Seriously, nearly every story she has written features these two as lovers. And she portrays it in a 'realistic' way, i.e. the way it would have happened in canon: the relationship isn't sugary-sweet, but it isn't violent and abusive either (well, except when the two 'Cons have a really bad falling out). Her stories also contains a LOT of smut. So if you're anti-slash/anti-smut, steer clear. Otherwise, enjoy.

- Comments: In my eyes, this is the piece of goshdarn flippin' ART that has set the standard for all Transformers fanfiction, and so far, in all my years of reading Transformer fanfiction, only TWO fanfics has reached this level of excellence, and NONE have yet to surpass it. This is the holy grail of Beast War fanfics, and any fan of the show should read it.

- Synopsis: Exceedingly difficult to put into words. A highly highly absurdist take on Beast Wars. It's straight humor and difficult to imagine it wasn't written on acid. Much of the humor comes from the continual upping the ante of increasingly bizarre plot twists.
- It's a Crack Fic, but they have some measure of plot. The first one revolves around winning the personified love of the forests, and is resolved via a race between Megatron and Optimus, who has evolved into Rapidash. The second deals with a zombie outbreak (seeming to very vaguely parody The Walking Dead in one instance) and a strain of cancer that effects all characters not present in the pilot episode of the series.

- Summary: The first installment of a fan comic called Troller!. It follows the Cybertronians who stayed behind on Earth after the war and a small group that interacts with a teenager named Mindy. Troller is a humorous character and Mindy's reactions to everything from Femmes to Transformers-sized Subways are hilarious. It is in an Animesque style and translated to English. The Grammar can be off but it is quickly corrected once pointed out. It updates every Tuesday. Surely this deserves its own page?

- Synopsis: Pre-ROTF. Demolisher arrives on Earth too late, and Sideways brings with him more trouble than he's worth.
- Comments: This covers what the Decepticons were up to in the two years between Transformers and ROTF, mainly from Demolishor's POV. It's a bit of a character study and development of two extremely minor bad guys with not much more than their toy bios to go on with. Even so, the author has an engaging style and solid characterizations. Despite some minor spelling errors, this is one of the of the best fics I've ever read, even though the storyline remains canon faithful.

- Comments: These are really cute stories, and my favorites to read. Mostly about Annabelle and Ironhide, sometimes the other Autobots and human characters show up, and Annabelle's antics drive everyone a little nuts. They are very good stories! After an understandable amount of brain-breakage at the ensuing mental pictures, I came up with this. The personal aspects of Archibald's life are a product of the movie canon and some sleep-deprived guesswork. While NOT actually a Starstream/Captain Witwicky fic, this story is nonetheless haunting and awesome.

Was on hiatus for a while but recently returned with the 200th chapter. Warning, very addicting story, will likely make you stay up reading until you pass out over your screen.

- Pairing: Starscream/Optimus Prime. Waaay better than it sounds. There is a background mention of Prowl/Jazz, but the fic doesn't explore it much.
- Synopsis: The War for Cybertron is over, Optimus Prime is retired, Megatron has long since been executed, and the Decepticons are prisoners serving sentences for war crimes. The world of Cybertron is at peace, but trouble still manages to spring up in the form of contaminated energon and a rapidly spreading sickness. When Optimus Prime travels to the mines to investigate the epidemic, he discovers some ugly truths about the hard-won "peace" of his world and soon realizes that a Decepticon's aid may hold the key to unlocking the disturbing mystery before him.
- Comments: I hesitated to recommend this fic because 1) I really don't read slash fiction 2) particularly ones with a detailed sex scene in them. I realized, however, that to snub it for those reasons would be unfair because this fic is excellent. It's beautifully descriptive and introduces some fascinating ideas. The slash fiction part is actually more of a component rather than the sole focus of the story, and the reader can pretty much take it or leave it depending on taste. As a slash fiction, the progression of the relationship is handled well, all those involved remain completely in character, and the explanation of the pairing, however bizarre, is reasonable. Even the afore mentioned scene was well written. My reasons for my (repeated) reading of this fan fiction, however, are primarily: 1) it introduces some interesting musings on the characterization of Starscream. I haven't added all of them to my personal canon, but the insight is well done and appreciated. 2) It explores a post-war Cybertron with the Autobots on the winning side, but the depiction is far from a Utopia. It dares to question how the Autobots, after millions of years of tragedy, loss, and warfare, would treat their enemies after conquering them... Overall, I recommend this fic for its gusty take on the Transformers universe and it's populace, it's well-written characterization and descriptions, and it's ability to inspiring musing and feeling in its readers.

Thundercracker thumps harder with the side of his fist and the door rattles in its frame, old bearings and older metal. Their ship was made relatively recently in the war’s history, which is to say it’s a rickety rustbucket held together with glue and hope, and should’ve been put out of its misery long ago. “Hurry up, already,” Thundercracker says, loud enough to carry, “Slipstream’s gonna make us scrub the engine filters if we’re late for patrol.” There’s another clatter. This time, the curse is louder. Acid Storm’s voice comes muffled through the door. “I’m putting my face on!” “Frag it, not again!”

The story is still being posted, but the character of Erin and what happens to her are interesting, and I found myself really getting invested in what happens to her. While the art starts off a little bit rough, it only improves with each update and all of the latest pages look amazing. Also, has a page in need of some Wiki magic.

- Comments: It's surprisingly hard to provide a synopsis of this fantastic fic, since it's more of a serial than anything else - new characters and plots appear and develop, and things just keep moving forward. The first element is Wheelie struggling to become an Autobot in the face of justified suspicion and paranoia, but it's a lot more than that. A brief warning, however - some of these developments include unconventional relationships, including slash amongst others, that some tropers may wish to avoid. It also has politics, drama, action and humour and many characters, and this troper - who usually avoids slash entirely - can't but recommend it in the strongest possible terms.

Starts sometime before the events of Revenge of the Fallen and goes through the movie timeline from there.

- Comments: there is some Artistic License regarding Diego Garcia's location as the author did not know it was an island when she first started writing the story but it doesn't detract too much from how well written it is otherwise. For those who want to read a story where the OC/Canon romance is slowly built up to, this is one of the few in the Transformers section of fanfiction.net that has that and the author does a good job with it. It is 118 chapters so far (and on the events of Dark of the Moon, timeline wise) so be prepared to spend a lot of time reading it.
