- Synopsis: Everyone knows Jack is the master of fright, but when a creature knows as the "Bone Collector" attacks one of Halloween Town's citizens, it's up to Jack to put his courage to the test. Takes place after Oogie's Revenge.
- Comments: Excellently well-written, and the characters are true to the original film. The plot is nicely paced, and it's interesting to see the one emotion Jack knows about yet doesn't seem to feel in the movie — fear — used without overdoing it. One of my favorites! Completed fic.
- Seconded. This fanfiction forces a master of fear to face it, and it works out excellently. Seriously, if you have even the slightest approval of Night Before Christmas, you will probably enjoy The Bone Collector,
Ascension of the Fallen by Dismal-Spectre

- Synopsis: Jack Skellington's midnight flight had brought two worlds together. However, the fragile union is threatened by an ancient enemy as well as from forces from within. Takes place not long after the film.
- Comments: Another excellently well-written fic, this one explores what possibilities has opened up with Halloween Town and Christmas Town knowing about each other, as well as showing that not all the citizens of Halloween Town are so fond of Jack. Darker and Edgier then the movie, yet done right. Oh, and Mombi is a villain alongside Oogie Boogie. The author also has some really good fan art to check out as well. Unfortunately, this seems to be a Dead Fic.

- Synopsis: After the Christmas Incident, Halloween Town have recollected their dangerous creations. However, some are still missing. When Jack and Sally go to find them, they discover that the toys were sold to a man who creates Horror movies. And he wants Jack too. Takes place almost right after the film.
- Comments: Well-written story with an engaging plot. Gogogogogo read it!

- Tags: This story is part of a collection of one-shots which take place after the the movie, mainly focusing on Jack and Sally.
The Other Nightmare by Era Yachi

- Synopsis: Something is trying to destroy all of the holiday worlds, including Halloween. Jack must rally the other holiday leaders and somehow protect his own town from the unseen danger. But sometimes, the worst kind of trouble comes from within. Takes place a year after the film.
- Comments: The main plot of the fic is well-paced and tension filled, with enough mystery to keep you hooked. The characterzation is spot-on for the canonial characters and well-written for the new ones. This fic is only one of the few to explore how the other holiday leaders would react to Jack's Christmas fiasco, and the author handles the holiday leaders' mistrust of Jack well.

- Comments: This is a quick one-shot that, as the title implies, have the trickster trio show a cranky old lady the true spirit of Halloween.

- Comments: Pretty adorable, this fic makes any Jack/Sally shipper happy. Short fic, good for a quick read.
Double Trouble by kellemarine

- Fandoms: The Nightmare Before Christmas, Harry Potter
- Synopsis: Everyone knows what happened when Sirius fell through the veil. What if something different happened to Harry? Harry ends up in Halloween Town where he meets Jack Skellington. Things change forever for Harry and Jack and nothing will ever be the same. Set 7 ½ years after the Christmas fiasco and immediately after the Ministry battle in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
- Comments: I have to say, I was not expecting this to be any good (as much as I love crossovers, sadly most Fan Fic crossovers are lacking). While some things seem to be Hand Waves or possibly even complete Ass Pulls, depending on how you look at it, the story is quite good, and everything makes sense if you can take some Acceptable Breaks from Canon (like Harry and, according to the author notes, Sirius surviving the fall through the veil). And I wasn't expecting Lily to show up in Halloween Town either. The fic has yet to be completed. *goes to

- Fandoms: The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman: The Animated Series
- Synopsis: It is Halloween Night in Gotham City, and the citizens are terrified out of their wits—and not by the Scarecrow. How will the Master of Fear take this?
- Comments: Despite what the title implies (Jack Skellington and Jonathan Crane in a competition over who's the scariest), Lock, Shock, and Barrel practically steal this fic with the mischief they cause in Gotham City on Halloween night. This is not a bad thing, however. They're not even supposed to be out this Halloween as a punishment for a prank that went too far, and it's their antics being blamed on the Scarecrow (who has his own scheme) that kicks off the plot, and eventually brings the Master of Fright in confrontation to the Master of Fear. Well worth a read.
