- Description: Infected by a Puffstool and thrust into a bleak world of terrifying dangers...One Mushroom Pikmin will question the sanity of his own possessed mind as he witnesses the unrelenting horrors that make up the cost of survival.
- Comments: Spored is a nice survival thriller as several Mushroom Pikmin struggle to survive after being left behind on the Pikmin Planet. As the protagonist struggles with physical horrors as well as the Puffstool spores effects on his own sanity, he soon finds himself in an adventure that will test every bit of his determination and resolve to stay alive. Though it starts out a bit rough, a lot of the grammar and spelling flaws of the earlier chapters start to iron themselves out the further you go. All in all, Spore is a great epic and a must read for any Pikmin fan.

- Description: From planting to inevitable death, a white Pikmin tells the story of its life. This is a realistic take on the entire, multifaceted world of Pikmin 2. [Now includes a bonus chapter.]
- Comments: Through Red Eyes is an interesting story told solely (Save for the bonus chapter) from the point of view of a lone White Pikmin harvested in the Bulblax Kingdom up to the events of the Snagret Hole, depicting his struggles and triumphs. As the description states, it takes a more realistic, darker tone on the game, making it very clear that it's very hard to be a Pikmin when nearly everything desires to eat you and you're extremely fragile as well. This is doubled by the fact that as a White Pikmin, our hero can be used at any time as a panic button due to his ability to poison enemies if they eat him.

- Description: As he found and discovered each letter, he began to understand the story behind Captain Olimar. / Pikmin 3, Alph-centric. Some Brittany and Charlie. Spoilers for Pikmin 1. Oneshot.
- Comments: Made before Pikmin 3 came out, A thousand words is a rather interesting fic where Alph stumbles upon Olimar's logs from the first game. As he begins to search more and more for them as he discovers the tale of Captain Olimar, he reads of his triumphs as he slowly manages to collect almost every single ship part, and the crushing end when Olimar fails and has his entire Pikmin army demolished by the Emperor Bulblax, and how he died alone due to the aftermath...

- Description: A bit of a different ending to Pikmin 3, as well as a bit more after that. Mostly about Alph and Olimar, with some Brittany and Louie, and a Little Charlie.
- Comments: Basically, this fic is about what would have happened if Olimar woke up during the battle with Plasm Wraith. It's a very good read and this troper wishes something like could have happened in game.

- Description: Olimar and Louie's lost notes on all the new creatures found in Pikmin 3.
- Comments: If you missed Olimar and Louie's notes from Pikmin 2 in Pikmin 3, this fic seeks to change that. All of the descriptions feel very in character and can satisfy any fan's wishes.
- True Confessions of an Amateur Gourmet by Lotophagia

- Description: A character study of Louie going from his childhood up to after the end of Pikmin 4. Plays with the canon a bit in that Pikmin 4's events come after Pikmin 3 in this story rather than being a Continuity Reboot.
- Comments: A really thoughtful eight-chapter look at Louie's psyche and rationale for his actions across the series, plus a lot of good content surrounding how his friendship with Olimar develops.
Fan games and Rom Hacks

- Description: In this Fan Sequel rom hack of Pikmin 2 which takes place a few days after the original game, Olimar is called into a meeting where the president explains that the company is in debt again because the debt collectors, still having not forgiven them for the loss of the golden pik pik carrots, had thrown their treasure back onto the pikmin planet and demanded a bigger fine of 20,000 pokos. He then reveals that Louie had framed Olimar for being the cause of the debt in the first place, forcing him to step down as captain, much to his and the ship's contempt. They now have to go back to the pikmin planet to reclaim the treasure while somehow trying to make up for the rest of the loan.
- Comments: I love this rom hack as with the exception of the soundtrack being from different games remixed into Pikmin 2's soundfont as well as certain treasures that are assets from other games imported to Pikmin 2, this does feel like a natural continuation of Olimar's story from the first 2 games. The moveset and appearances of some enemies, namely the Breadbugs and Bulborbs have been changed up to feel more unique and give off the feeling that the wildlife is adapting to the Pikmin to be more resilient against them. My favorite moment of the hack was during the postgame after the debt is repaid. Olimar gets left behind on the planet instead of Louie this time and the president responds by both refusing to go with Louie and transforming his ship into a compatible captain form while they take the S.S. Dolphin back there to save him. It even has its own audio for whistling and swarming Pikmin! That is easily both the funniest and most genius thing to happen in the entire hack.
