- An eight-part serialized 50,000 words Kino's Journey continuation, although parts of it take place during and between the episodes of the original series/novels. It has a strong sense of the original story's feel about it, for better or worse. It's been followed up by Old Haunts, which crosses over with Christine, and then the four-parter The Bird of Time.

- Comments: A thought-provoking and in-character piece, and one that addresses the transgender/nonbinary overtones that Kino has in the show itself.

Kino no Owari by CaideSin

- Synopsis: A traveler stays at the end of the world for three days and two nights.
- Comments: To clarify, a crossover with Kingdom Hearts (2). The story is written in the tone and perspective of Kino's Journey, giving a strange and haunting perspective of life at The World That Never Was, treating it like a "Beautiful and Ugly" land like many other Kino travels through. Even without background from the other half of this Crossover, just reading it is a strange treat.
Tea and Motorcycles by PenNameSmith

- Synopsis: "... Well, to be fair I had a couple of gadgets which he probably didn't, like a teaspoon and a talking motorcycle."
- Comments: After dodging a squirrel on the road, A girl and her mechanical companion follow the sound of music through a wood, finding a tall fellow in a pinstripe suit sleeping next to a gramophone. The two travelers, both going by adopted names, take tea, compare notes, and one offers the other the chance of a million lifetimes... on her usual terms, of course. A lovely piece comparing two similar characters and their ways of life. Likely set during the 10th Doctor's twilight years (read: the 2009 specials), given his dialogue and the fic's publication date.
