- Astral Projection: Rocky gets pulled from his body and becomes one of these when Michael pulls his soul.
- Bolt of Divine Retribution: Rocky ends up combining with his divine self with this.
- Drowning Unwanted Pets: During a flashback, Jason was dangerously close to succeeding with Rocky. Thank goodness Jessie saved him with the press of a remote.
- Frigid Water Is Harmless: Averted in chapter 2 when Zuma almost died because of it. Fortunately, Rocky made a fire which kept him warm.
- Literal Split Personality: When Meres recombined himself into Rocky, he split into his divine side and his physical side. Both end up recombining with a Bolt of Divine Retribution.
- Ruins for Ruins' Sake: Rocky and Zuma stumbled into these, which turned out to be Meres’ throne room.
- Physical God: Meres qualifies as one, although he’s a benevolent example.
- Plagued by Nightmares: Rocky was repeatedly plagued by them in Chapter 1.
- Semi-Divine: Rocky turns out to be a demigod who was resurrected from a Bolt of Divine Retribution after he was killed by something and Meres recombined himself into Rocky. His divine powers become Chekhov's Gun after they were trapped by Jason.
- Take Up My Sword: Why Michael sent Rocky and Zuma there.
- Tomato in the Mirror: Downplayed - Rocky did not know he was part Divine until he saw suspicious-looking markings that look exactly like his pup-tag.
- Undressing the Unconscious: Downplayed when Rocky does this to Zuma after starting a fire.
