"We'll Carry On" is a fanfic made by Transwiththeplans. It is a crossover AU of their Of Gemstones and Watches (a crossover of Ben 10 and RWBY) fanfic with the world of My Hero Academia.

Class 1-A's Ochako Uraraka finds herself unexpectedly taking on the mantle of the Omnitrix wielder from Ben Tennyson, who's currently preparing to raise a child. Touched by her efforts during the Sports Festival, Ben deems her worthy to be his successor.

As Ochako begins to explore the capabilities of the Omnitrix, she must also navigate the complex relationships and alliances, all while facing off against increasingly powerful enemies.

Can be found here on FanFiction.Net, here on SpaceBattles.com, and here on Archive of Our Own.

We'll Carry On provides examples of:

  • 20 Minutes into the Future: Technology in this world is a bit more advanced than our own.
  • Abusive Parents: Stated outright with Potential.
  • Academy of Adventure: U.A., a school that trains those who wish to be superheroes.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Multiple Pro Heroes show up early; Edgeshot, Mirko, Gang Orca and Star and Stripe in Chapter 3, and Crust in Chapter 5.
    • Dabi and Toga show up in Chapter 13, but so do Twice and Spinner, who didn't appear until around the time of the Summer Camp arc in canon.
    • Star and Stripe shows up at Shiketsu, working as a teacher for the year.
  • Adaptational Badass: Uraraka, since she has the Omnitrix now. She's strong enough to go toe to toe with All Might, although he was weakened.
    • Izuku develops Shoot Style earlier in this world.
      • Later, Izuku unlocks Blackwhip against Muscular.
    • Kirishima seems to have unlocked a small bit of Unbreakable earlier in this world, given the encounter with Kraab.
    • Melissa Shield built an Iron Man suit for her expo, and uses it against her father's assistant, Samuel.
    • Samuel, David's assistant, is given a quirk that allows him to produce arms similar to a Brittle star organism. Later, he enhances it with a tech-based trigger.
    • Toga can drink alien blood and partially turn into aliens, similar to Kevin in the original series.
  • Adaptation Expansion:
    • The I-Island arc changes a majority of the story; it adds both Tokoyami and Sero to the mix while giving Wolfram a new crew.
  • Adaptational Heroism: David Shield, although skeptical, accepts Ben and Toshinori's successors, and does not try to steal back his invention.
  • Adaptational Job Change: Star and Stripe is a teacher at Shiketsu, at least for a year.
    • Gasmask, Midnight's killer in canon, works at Shiketsu.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Izuku and Uraraka's relationship is now closer, especially after Izuku told her about One for All after he deduced she had the Omnitrix.
    • Alan, Cooper, Manny, Helen, and Pierce are younger in this universe, meaning that their relationship with Ben is similar to the one they had with Max in canon.
  • Adaptational Wimp: Kumagawa doesn't have access to "All Fiction" in this world. Implied that he does have it, but just chooses not to use it out of 'respect'.
  • Adapted Out: Mineta is written out of the I-Island arc and somehow became a flight risk. In his place, Sero is added instead.
  • Anti-Regeneration: Endeavor defeats a Nomu with a "Super Regeneration" Quirk by making his flames hot enough to turn blue and carbonize the head off.
    • It's how Alan and Ochako later defeat another Nomu.
  • Author Appeal: The author mentioned she has a soft spot for Uraraka, especially after the Sports Festival.
  • Birds of a Feather: Ben and Ochako really hit it off as mentor and mentee.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Kumagawa.
「 if you're familiar with medaka box, you're wondering why i'm so 'weak' here 」
「 why did the author remove 'All Fiction'? 」
    「 She Can't. 」
「 I Could Crush These Kids Like Ants. 」
「 but for the sake of the worms i'm being 'nice' 」
  • Canon Foreigner: Multiple characters;
    • The Challenger: A character from the Cartoon Network Action Packs.
    • Obake, a character who can transform when wearing a mask of another person.
    • Kono Akio, aka Potential.
    • The Quadians, a family of superheroes. They don't last long.
    • Multiple characters in Class 13 at Shiketsu; Itsuki, Sunako, Yoshida, Sato, Hana, Yuna and Ryuji.
    • Wolfram's crew receives an overhaul of characters: ESPider, True Edge, Photophobia, Elizabeth, Extra-Ore-Dinary and Anonymous.
  • Capepunk: The story takes place 20 Minutes into the Future, in a world where about 80% of the people have some kind of ability called a "Quirk." Being a superhero is a real job, but you have to take a special education course to get there.
  • Cast from Calories:
    • Yaoyorozu is able to materialize anything from her body fat.
    • Sato's "Sugar Rush" quirk allows him to gain tremendous strength by consuming sweets. But as he comes down from his sugar high, he momentarily loses both his brains and his abilities.
  • Central Theme: As the title implies, 'To Carry On'. The song encourages listeners to continue living their lives to the fullest, and to never give up in the face of adversity.
    • Legacies. Ben with Ochako, All Might with Izuku, Tensei with Tenya.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: The Quadians.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Uraraka vs Potential, Round 1.
    • Kumagawa vs the Suisou Academy student council.
  • Cursed with Awesome: Many quirks are shown to be dangerous initially but, with practice, can be used to help instead of hurt.
    • Medaka Kurokami. Her quirk copies an ability and 'perfects it', meaning she's always better than the original.
  • Deconstructed Character Archetype: Bakugou. The author admits to not liking the character, but still 'wants to like writing them'. This is demonstrated in Chapter 58.
  • The Dreaded: Kumagawa is terrifying. Everyone who meets him is afraid of him.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Helen uses a stop sign to decapitate a Nomu in Chapter 1.
    • Kumagawa uses giant screws to great effect.
  • Intercontinuity Crossover: With 'Of Gemstones and Watches' and 'My Hero Academia'.
    • Later revealed to be crossed over with "Medaka Box".
  • Kick the Dog: The deaths of Homura, Miyo and Sou of the Quadians. After Shigaraki says that he'll let them all live if one of them dies, Primo pretends to offer up himself to counter attack. Of course, Shigaraki twists the deal and kills everyone BUT Primo.
    • Toga also drinks some of Homura's blood and mocks him for her death.
  • Loved by All: Ben 10,000 is up there, given his high ratings.
  • Moment Killer: Ochako interrupts a moment between Momo and Jirou at I-Island.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • In the Good Loser Kumagawa chapters set at Shiketsu, Kumagawa is placed in Class 13. In the original Medaka Box canon, Class 13 is the class for abnormals.
  • Transformation Trinket: The Omnitrix.
  • Unreliable Narrator: Implied with Izuku in Chapter 58. Unlike in canon, the class does not laugh at Izuku when he mentions trying to get into UA.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Kraab, Wolfram and his gang.
