Fanfic / Warriors Kingdoms: The Prophecy Begins

Go To

Warriors Kingdoms: The Prophecy Begins is a humanized AU of the Warriors series. Warriors is transformed into a High Fantasy work.

Primarily set in the Kingdom of Thundria, Warriors Kingdoms stars a young squire named Fiyr. Originally named "Ross", Fiyr left his home to live in Thundria and train to be a knight.

The story plans to adapt the first arc of Warriors. It currently consists of two fics: Into the Fire (Into the Wild) and Sea and Smoke (Shadow and Ice).

Warriors Kingdoms: The Prophecy Begins provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Characters react more dramatically to certain things, such as Fiyr not originally liking his Meaningful Rename much and Samn reacting to her father Redde's death.
  • Adaptation Name Change:
    • Every cat is given a more human, vaguely Old English sounding name based on their original name. Examples include "Bluelianna Star" (Bluestar), "Nait Pault" (Nightpelt), "Braighttia Fluwr" (Brightflower), "Oeak Hahrte" (Oakheart), "Laitlte" (Littlepaw), and "Ravne" (Ravenpaw).
    • Instead of ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan, and ShadowClan, there is the Kingdom of Thundria, the Kingdom of Rivier, the Kingdom of Wynnd, and the Kingdom of Shodawa.
    • The titles are monarch (leader), captains of the guard (deputy), court healer (medicine cat), advisor (senior warrior), knight (warrior), squire (apprentice), and ladies of the court (queen). Only elders kept their name.
  • Age Lift: Spottedleaf's age is tweaked so that she's closer to Firepaw's age. In canon, she was 4 years at her death, making her roughly 25-40 in human years. In this fanfic, Spottalia starts at only 16 and is barely older than the 12-year old Fiyr.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Stoumpei Toile is missing one hand as an equivalent to how Stumpytail has a short tail.
  • Fantastic Naming Convention: Squires have only one part to their name, but get another part once they change in rank. Monarchs have long names like "Tahliorius" and "Braukkiniaum", as well as their second name being "Star".
  • Fantastic Slurs: Humans that act as servants to the gods are called "god-toys" by the Kingdoms.
  • Kid Hero: The protagonist Fiyr starts the story at age twelve. He becomes a squire soon afterwards.
  • The Medic: Kingdoms only have one healer and occasionally a healer apprentice. They act as the medics of the kingdom, as well as the spiritual leaders.
  • Pronouncing My Name for You: Graie makes sure that Ross knows his name isn't "Gray".
  • Seers: Healers are a mix of The Medic and seer. They display a variety of mystical powers and can speak with the Starlaxi.
  • Sweet Polly Oliver: Samn masquerades as a boy in order to become a knight.
  • Who Names Their Kid "Dude"?: Ross calls Graie's parents uninspired because his name just translates to "Gray".
