Izuku Midoriya felt worthless for being quirkless and longed to be remembered. After discovering that he has a bone manipulation quirk, he realized his true purpose: to murder people and create beautiful art. Izuku becomes the feared Serial Killer known as the Lotus Demon.

Virtuoso is a My Hero Academia Dark Fic by Rain Temple about a Mad Artist Serial Killer Izuku. it also received a sequel, Deku Must Die.


Tropes:

  • Adaptational Superpower Change: Instead of a Quirkless who gets One For All, Izuku has a bone manipulation quirk and is given a flight Quirk from All For One.
  • Adaptational Villainy: While Izuku is very heroic in canon, this story depicts him as an evil serial killer.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Naomasa loses their left arm and leg after being caught in an explosion.
  • And I Must Scream: In many of his kills, Izuku controls the victims' body to prevent them from screaming as they die.
  • Anyone Can Die: Many major characters die throughout the story, including Iida and All Might.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: The first story ends with All For One killing All Might and Izuku escaping.
  • Beyond the Impossible: One For All is already overpowered, but All Might reveals that 100% of its full power is closer to 50%.
  • Body Horror: Izuku uses his bone manipulation quirk to twist his victims' bodies in horrific ways to create artworks.
  • Censored Child Death: Averted. Poor Mineta. Poor Kota...
  • Combat Sadomasochist: Izuku. He loves hurting victims and being hurt. He masturbated to scars from Bakugo blowing up half of his face and later was implied to be erect from using his Quirk on himself.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: The Lotus Demon's victims die in horrific and painful ways, as their bodies are twisted and torn apart.
  • Dark Fic: This story is extremely dark, featuring graphic depictions of death, Body Horror, rape, and a disturbing Villain Protagonist.
  • Death by Adaptation: Many characters die in this story that live in canon, including Mineta, Iida, and All Might.
  • Death of a Child: Mineta and an unknown number by Izuku, Kota by Muscular.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Kurogiri and Shigaraki are shocked by the plan for The Dance of Flowers. Tomura has to be talked into it by All For One.

  • Hero Killer: While he initially only killed ordinary people, Izuku eventually started killing heroes as well.
  • I Regret Nothing: Muscular while Kirishima kills him.
  • Mad Artist: Izuku is obsessed with making morbid "art" by twisting peoples' bodies in disturbing ways.
  • Memory Gambit: Izuku has his memories erased by All For One to go undercover in U.A.
  • Moral Event Horizon: The Dance of Flowers is Izuku and the League's. 17,000 people are killed by nail bombs and sarin gas.
  • Power at a Price: Shattered Boundary makes Kirishima much stronger but shreds his body even more than usual. All Might warns him to not to use it for more than a few seconds.
  • Pragmatic Villany: Izuku doesn't go after kids because they lack sufficent blood and bone strength for his art. Didn't stop him from killing Mineta or the victims of The Dance of Flowers.
  • Shout-Out: Chapters 36 and 37 quote the "A Good Man Goes to War" rhyme as a parallel to Kota's death and Kirishima becoming a murderer.
  • Serial Killer: Izuku kills many innocent people throughout the story as the Lotus Demon.
  • Smug Super: Izuku often mocks others internally for being stuck on the ground after getting his flight Quirk.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: Kirishima's Shattered Boundary form.
  • Vigilante Man: Bakugo becomes one called Blast King after being expelled.
  • Villain Protagonist: While the main character, Izuku is definitely this story's villain, being a pure evil serial killer.
