- Embarrassing Rescue: Don thinks this when he and the others are rescued by Charlie, as he is a trained agent but he doesn't care in the end as he can make his move to arrest the sisters for stealing a painting that he and the agents consider to be really ugly.
- Inheritance Backlash: Larry is not happy about inheriting a castle-like building from his cousin Isabel, as he doesn't have too fond memories of her and just wants to sell the place. It gets worse when he and the others get held hostage by the Duckett sisters, who are storing stolen art in the house.
- Obfuscating Disability: Marybel Duckett was in a car crash several years before, but her injuries were less severe as reported and pretends to be disabled to throw people off that she and her sisters are art thieves.
- "Scooby-Doo" Hoax: The sisters also disguise themselves as a bigfoot-like creature to scare off any potential treasure hunters due to a story of treasure being hidden in the house while they hide their loot there.
- Sibling Team: The Duckett sisters, as they steal paintings from museums to sell off to the black market and were planning to run to New Orleans, due to the recent hurricane, Katrina.
