Total Drama Winners
is a Total Drama fanfiction by Lord of the Sloths, and the sequel to Total Drama Losers. After the success of the previous season, Chris decides to bring back eighteen of his favourite and best performing contestants to battle it out on season two's old abandoned film lot. This fanfic contains examples of these tropes:
- Action Girl: Many, but emphasis is placed on Sky, Jo and to an extent Jasmine.
- The Barnum: The western themed challenge has the characters meeting one and later stealing his stagecoach. He was even named Phineas (What the "P" in P.T. Barnum stood for).
- Bloodless Carnage: Lampshaded in the fairy tale challenge when Shawn is bothered by the lack of blood coming from any of the monsters. Averted in the horror movie and Jaws challenges where blood is mentioned.
- Demoted to Extra: Due to the season's format, it's inevitable that some characters who were prominent in previous seasons end up getting eliminated early. Mike, for example, goes from a prominent character in both Revenge of the Island and All-Stars to the first one eliminated.
- Odd Friendship: Between Jo and Sky, both athletes with leadership qualities who are there to win. However, Sky will not do anything she considers unfair or immoral, while Jo will do whatever it takes.
- Riddle of the Sphinx: Subverted when the characters actual in one challenge meet a Sphinx who just wants to eat the characters instead of giving them any riddles.
- Shout-Out: The challenges all involve simulations of movies, and they are often specific, so there are multiple references.
- Suspiciously Apropos Music: Played for laughs in the horror movie challenge where every single song on the radio was related to stalking or death.
- What Kind of Lame Power Is Heart, Anyway?: The superhero themed challenge involves the characters being given powers that fit into this category.
