The MLP Dreamscape
is an illustrated story by Baron-Engel, an artist from DeviantArt.
The story takes place sometime after Friendship is Magic's pilot episode. Due to being a lucid dreamer in real life, Baron's dreaming landed him in the world of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, where he wakes up as a unicorn stallion with only a blank patch on his flanks where his cutie mark should be. His presence quickly catches the attention of Princesses Luna and Celestia, who see him as a strange yet harmless anomaly. Unfortunately, with Baron's arrival comes the armies of darkness and shadows, as well as other forces of evil.

The MLP Dreamscape contains examples of:
- Child Prodigy: Apple Bloom shows an aptitude for dream magic so incredible that Luna decides to take her in as her apprentice, and later makes her a part of the Lunar Court despite her young age.
- Eldritch Abomination: The Lord of Shadows, as well as anything that comes from the Realm of Shadows. The shadow creature that possesses Apple Bloom is one, too.
- How Do I Shot Web?: After willing himself into true existence by imagining himself with the body of a pegasus, Baron becomes Rainbow Dash's "student" in order to learn how to fly and take care of his wings. Rainbow's not happy about it at first, but Baron eventually succeeds.
- Karmic Death: The shadow creature that possessed Apple Bloom caused her lots of misery, and affected her immediate family and friends as well. It is killed by an Earth-empowered Applejack, who yanks the shadow creature out of her little sister's head and stomps it into the ground.
- Meaningful Name: Plenty, as in canon.
- Sweet Talk is an alluring unicorn henchmare of Blank Check who specializes in brainwashing and mind manipulation.
- Prophecy is a young unicorn mare who has the rare gift of accurate clairvoyance.
- Physical God: As in canon, the Royal Sisters, Celestia and Luna, are powerful and ageless alicorns who command the powers of the sun and moon, respectively.
- Seers: Prophecy is a young unicorn mare who was born with the rare gift of clairvoyance, allowing her to make accurate predictions of the future. Her adoptive mother, Blank Check, used her visions to keep her mafia running and avoid capture by authorities.
- Took a Level in Badass: Apple Bloom's development takes a far different path than in canon. After being successfully saved from a horrific case of Demonic Possession, Apple Bloom starts showing signs of dream magic talent, something that surprises Luna. With training and experience, she becomes a very competent fighter in the dream world.
