The Last Queen of Greenwood by hanna.jpg follows Caradel and her rivalry with Thranduil. They are elves who live in Greenwood, the forest fated to become Mirkwood in The Hobbit. Thranduil is the king's heir. As you can guess from the Spoiler Title, Caradel marries Thranduil and becomes his queen. That is not the end of the story. Being queen is not easy.

The Last Queen of Greenwood provides examples of:

  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: Caradel and Thranduil start the story as Vitriolic Best Buds. They trade insults. Then Thranduil begins the affection. Caradel acts nice to Thranduil, to prove that she is better than him, not because she loves him. The tension continues after Thranduil makes a Love Confession, because Caradel cites their belligerency as a reason to reject his love.
  • Chick Magnet:
    • Caradel is a Dude Magnet. At parties, Caradel attracts many men who become her dance partners. At Tervic's party in chapter 2, Caradel had more partners than anyone except Tervic.
    • Thranduil is a Chick Magnet, obviously because he is the prince and the king's heir.
  • Everyone Can See It: Oropher, Galadriel and Celebrían can all see the affection between Caradel and Thranduil. This bothers Caradel, who believes to not love him.
  • Fanon: invoked Caradel's story disagrees with the timeline from Appendix B of The Lord of the Rings. It references several events from that timeline, but they happen out of order.
  • Fisher King: There is a connection between the forest and its king. When the forest becomes ill (in chapter 19), so does its king.
  • Love Confession: In chapter 6, Thranduil declares his love to Caradel, and then makes their First Kiss. Caradel takes the kiss but rejects his love. She cites their past belligerency as a reason.
  • Love Epiphany: In chapter 11, Caradel decides that she does love Thranduil. Before this moment, Caradel enjoyed dressing to impress Thranduil, staring at his handsome form, and letting him kiss her, but she did not love him.
  • O.C. Stand-in: Thranduil.
  • Parental Abandonment: Caradel knows that her parents abandoned her, but not why. Her closest relatives are her aunt Galadriel and her cousin Celebrían. She identifies her parents in chapter 12.
  • Spoiler Title: In The Last Queen of Greenwood, Caradel marries Thranduil and becomes his queen. It helps that the marriage is not the whole plot.
  • Unrequited Love Lasts Forever: When Caradel rejects the Love Confession in chapter 6, Thranduil declares, "I will never love again," and Caradel believes him.
