Fanfic / Telltale's Game of Thrones: Season Two AU

Go To

It's more of a fan-art fan-fiction. A fan-art-fiction. With choices. And polls.

TTGOT: Season Two AU is a Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series fanfic/fancomic/fanon produced by Badgershite. Originally commenced on May 2015 with a speculative digital painting, it slowly evolved into an AU that branches off from the fifth episode of the original game and explores an alternate series of events. The expanded universe and 'fan-fiction' has a a wikia of it's own. While each update is posted on tumblr, all existing updates can be viewed at once on the wiki's gallery page.

TTGOT S2 AU contains examples of:

     General
  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: Ortengryn, before promptly being riddled with arrows and killed.
  • Badass and Child Duo: Royland & Talia, Beskha & Ryon.
  • Berserk Button: Torrhen has one, triggered on a whim.
  • Big Bad: Torrhen Whitehill.
  • Butt-Monkey: Derrock Crowl. First Talia Forrester spares his life only for Royland Degore to smash his face in, then he's captured by Glenmore soldiers, then Royland headbutts him and knocks him out. After that he's dragged off and dumped at Ironrath by Torrhen Whitehill, and subsequently has his eye gouged out with a dagger for deserting in the first place. Then Talia kills him by stabbing him in the neck, ending his short and pitiful on-screen life.
  • Bystander Syndrome: Talia and Royland do nothing for a while when two Glenmore guards are murdered and Torrhen starts to duel Lord Glenmore. Maybe it's because their hands are bound.
  • Childhood Friends: Talia Forrester and Lyarra Glenmore.
    • Torrhen Whitehill and Alanna Snow
    • Namond Glenmore and his wife, Meghan Brownbarrow.
  • Cliffhanger: Downtimes in instalments.
    • Torrhen's arrival at Rillwater Crossing.
    • Talia witnessing her brother's & mother's heads mounted on pikes in Ironrath's courtyard.
    • Royland's death.
  • Elite Mooks: Alanna Snow, Ser Arys Mount, Brandon, and Boros Warrick amongst others, all serve as Torrhen Whitehill's Elite Guards.
    • Also Harys Snow, Gryff's right-hand man.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Torrhen has a nine-year-old bastard daughter, Roslin Snow, who is effectively his reason to live. He also has a wife, Greta Bole, and an infant son, Karl (who he named after his late older brother). All three are completely uninvolved in any Whitehill-Forrester conflict.
  • Eye Scream: Derrock Crowl gets one when Torrhen gouges his eye out with a dagger for desertion. Though it's mostly to prove a point to Gryff and his men.
  • Eyepatch After Time Skip: Royland Degore has his right eye scarred and permanently closed at the start of the storyline. For a while it remained unexplained until Badgershite stated Harys took his eye during the battle of Ironrath. It has not come up in canon yet.
  • Freudian Excuse:
    • Torrhen's mother died when he was young. Unlike his older brothers he was too young to cope, and unlike his sister, he was too old for it not to cut deep. He also suffers borderline personality disorder - as seen in his violent outbursts - and has self harmed. Not to mention his father beat him.
    • Gryff was the subject of Torrhen's violent outbursts (along with those of older brothers Karl and Ebbert), and suffered due to it. In Torrhen's presence he becomes much more submissive and tame, much unlike how he normally acts.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: Royland & Talia.
  • Kill Steal: Gryff killing Royland, when it seemed as if Harys would get the kill.
  • Last Stand: Royland when the gate falls and Ortengryn is killed.
  • Like a Daughter to Me: Royland Degore in regards to Talia Forrester. He won't admit it, however.
  • Nice Guy: Arys Mount. Though he's one of Torrhen's men and therefore Talia's enemy, he still offers her his hand to help her out of a cart in case she's injured.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: For the majority of the Glenmore hall fight Torrhen straddles Namond Glenmore and continuously beats the life out of him. He continues this until the end of the scene, when Talia is knocked out by Brandon, and Namond is never seen after.
  • One-Man Army: Torrhen Whitehill, Royland Degore, Rodrik Forrester.
    • Namond Glenmore also has a reputation for this.
  • Original Character: So far, everyone except Talia, Royland, Rodrik, Ryon, Beskha, Gared, Sylvi, Josera, Elsera and Gryff. Torrhen is named in canon but not seen, Derrock is seen but not named.
  • Parental Substitute: Royland Degore to Talia Forrester and Beskha to Ryon Forrester, following the deaths of Elissa & Gregor Forrester.
  • Pregnant Hostage: Elaena Glenmore, held captive at Ironrath.
  • Reunion Kiss: Rodrik and Elaena when they reunite at Timberwatch.
  • Smash to Black: Talia's apparent murder of Gryff Whitehill.
  • Speech Impediment: Kyra Glenmore, fifthborn child of Lord and Lady Glenmore, has a prominent stutter/stammer.
  • Take Up My Sword: Royland giving Talia his bracer, and the position of Lord's Sentinel.
  • Team Dad: Of Torrhen's Elite, Ser Arys Mount.
  • Tears of Remorse: Talia begins crying after she realises she has ended a man's life, even if he's a Whitehill Bannerman. She then throws herself into the arms of Royland Degore.
  • These Hands Have Killed: Talia, following her murder of Derrock Crowl.
  • The Sociopath: Torrhen Whitehill.
  • Tiny Guy, Huge Girl: Ryon & Beskha.
  • Villain Episode: The Bonus POV at the end of Part One, showing life at Highpoint, its council and the family members.
