Sunset Paradise: Rewritten is a fanfic based off Sunset Paradise. It is written by Jad Cruz, Mario T, AzUrArInG, and StrawbearyBoba.
Fanfic contains examples of:
- Adaptation Expansion: The world of Port Aurora has more character interactions here, rather than snippets of dialogue during fights. Whisk also has more character, and there's even an entire new section of the island shown, where Rotcod and Whisk's family dwell.
- Adaptational Heroism: Whisk. In the original she was an Only in It for the Money villain. In this version, she's Affably Evil.
- Adaptational Villainy: In the original Sunset Paradise, Duke was very much a Heel–Face Revolving Door. In this version, he's evil and stays evil.
- Affably Evil: Whisk is The Mole sure, but she definitely has a lighter side and seems to genuinely care about Auri and Meggy.
- Animal Jingoism: Suggested by Whisk. When Meggy is turned into a cat and demands Whisk help her, the latter suggests at first to "help" by teaching Meggy how to catch mice. This doesn't go over well.
- Crapsaccharine World: Even in this version of the story, it still fits this.
- Humanity Ensues: Whisk was apparently a normal cat who Rotcod kidnapped and humanised. Unlike most examples of this trope, she seems fine with it.
- Mad Doctor: Dr. Rotcod, a bioterrorist who specialises in transforming drugs.
- The Mole: Whisk, who "works" with Auri and Meggy while pretending
- Oblivious Transformation: Meggy doesn't even realise she's turned into a cat until she sees she has paws.
- Original Character: Dr. Rotcod, a Mad Doctor who loves experimenting with transforming drugs.
- Token Evil Teammate: Whisk serves this, being a spy to Benedict.
- Voices Are Mental: Meggy keeps her original voice after turning into a cat, and it's how Whisk ends up realising the "orange cat" is her.
