Storm King is a Star Wars Dark Fic set in the modern day, written by slinden. When Kylo and Rey are rescued from a serial killer when Rey’s four and Kylo’s fourteen, they have to struggle in terms of their own road to healing.

- Abusive Parents: Kes pretty much treats Poe like shit in this verse.
- Adaptational Heroism: Downplayed example with Kylo. He’s got issues, but it’s way overshadowed by the guy that molested him.
- Adaptational Name Change: Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan become George and Owen respectively in this fic.
- Adaptational Villainy: Kes Dameron and Luke Skywalker get this. In Kes’ case, he’s heavily abusive and neglectful towards Poe, and in Luke’s case, he’s mostly angry at Kylo thanks to blaming him for things he had to do while being held captive by Snoke.
- Rey gets a downplayed version, with many of her problems in this verse partially arising from her captivity and rape as a young child.
- Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: A same-sex version with Kylo and Poe: Poe is very much the gentle young man to Kylo’s brooding boy.
- Dark Fic: Very much this, though it’s more hopeful than the average darkfic.
- Living Emotional Crutch: Poe may be very much the Rose Tyler to Kylo’s Doctor, especially since the last time
Kylo was happy for a prolonged amount of time in this fic was with Poe. - Rapeand Revenge: Kylo ends up killing Snoke before the story starts.
- Rapeas Backstory: Not to mention being held captive by a serial killer. This is basically Rey and Kylo in this verse.
- Romantic False Lead: Subverted — despite Poe and Grey’s untimely deaths, they’re portrayed in very sympathetic lights.
- The Lost Lenore: Poe is very much this for Kylo after his untimely death.
- Too Happy to Live: Can this just sum up Poe and Kylo completely?
- Trauma Button: Kylo suffers this when he and Poe are making out, thanks to his body’s physical reaction to it.
- Trauma Conga Line: Kylo has a lot of this, starting from when he was kidnapped and molested by a serial killer.
- Understanding Boyfriend: Poe was this to Kylo when he was still alive, completely accepting of his trauma. It’s not one-sided either, considering that Poe has his own abuse trauma (not sexual, but bad in its own right) to work through.
- Victim Blaming: Pretty much Luke’s reasoning for hating Kylo; he thinks it’s Kylo’s fault for things Kylo was forced to do.
