Sonic and Donna
is a Sonic the Hedgehog fanfic by Donna Fairview. It's a loose adaptation of the original game's plot with an added character: Donna.
The story reinterprets the cut character Madonna. Madonna was a character that existed early in Sonic the Hedgehog's development. She was Sonic's human girlfriend and is assumed to be a Damsel in Distress. She was removed when Sega of America asked Sonic to be "cleaned up" for American audiences.
Donna Fairview is a human teenager who lives on South Island with her parents. Her best friend is an eleven-year old hedgehog named Sonic. Together the two go on adventures together. This all changes when a Dr. Ivo Robotnik takes heir town with robots. It's up to Sonic and Donna to stop him.
This fanfic provides examples of:
- Adaptation Name Change: Madonna's name is changed to "Donna Fairview".
- Adaptation Personality Change: Instead of being a ditzy Dumb Blonde, Madonna is a more proactive tomboy.

- Madonna is thirteen instead of an adult.

- Related Differently in the Adaptation: Sonic has a cousin named Sonia. Sonia's mother is named Aleena. This refers to his sister and mother from Sonic Underground.
