She Found Out
by RayLedgend is a Death Note Parody and Crack Fic in which Sayu finds the Desu Noto!
She Found Out provides examples of:
- Disproportionate Retribution: Light kills Leila, Lisa, and Robert via the Death Note because they refuse to use Japanese transliterations of their names.
- Glass-Shattering Sound: When Sayu calls out for her brother, she says the "eee" sound in "Onii-san" with great enough emphasis and at a high enough pitch that she shatters all the glass objects in the house... again.
- Gratuitous Japanese: Parodied. Light's name is transliterated in half a dozen ways, he pronounces the silent U in "desu", and he kills people with the Death Note for not using Japanese transliterations of their own names.
- Inconsistent Spelling: As part of the fic's nature as a parody of poorly-implemented Gratuitous Japanese, Light's name is intentionally spelled several different ways to reflect the various ways to transliterate it. In addition to Light, he's also called Lighto, Raito, Rait, Laito, Righto...
- Living with the Villain: Sayu finds out her brother is Kira.
- Oh, No... Not Again!: When Sayu breaks all the glass in her house with a super-forceful and high-pitched "Onii-san", the narration describing it happening adds an "...again" afterwards.
- Parody: The fic spoofs the usage of Gratuitous Japanese in fanfics based on Japanese, desu.
- Poe's Law: it seems few reviewers got that it's a Parody and/or didn't read the author's note.
