Fanfic / Seven Crimes and Punishments – Living Together

Go To

Seven Crimes and Punishments – Living Together is a comedy Fan Fic for the Evillious Chronicles written by TomboyJessie13.

Though Allen has saved the souls of the various characters who died in Evillious, he's still having trouble with the Sin Contractors, so Sickle comes up with the idea of having all of them live together to see how they get along.

Needless to say, Hilarity Ensues.

It can be read here. A sequel was written here and a silly OVA was made here.

Tropes applying to the first story

  • Character Exaggeration: Naturally, part of the humor comes from this, especially regarding everyone's sins. Though some seem to have contrarily gotten their sins more under control, and they aren’t exaggerated to the point that they become complete Unsympathetic Comedy Protagonists like the premise would otherwise imply.
  • Clothing Damage: Gallerian's sleeve was torn off in chapter 3 in an attempted to escape with the Monopoly money, it was later fixed by Kayo thanks to her tailoring.
  • Content Warnings: The author sometimes puts warnings on certain chapters, mostly foul language and suggestive themes, at least by this story's standards of age.
  • Cover Innocent Eyes and Ears: Banica and Held do this with Riliane and Michaela respectively, after Venomania shows up in their presence nude. Held does this for Michaela a second time when she finds the Duke's Porn Stash.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Allen. He kinda has to be in order to keep his sanity when dealing with these guys. Especially in regards to Sateriasis.
  • "Get Out of Jail Free" Card: Despite their crimes in the past, and later their actions in "Seven Crimes and Punishments" and "Master of the Heavenly Yard", they were given the chance to redeem themselves and join the spirits in the Heavenly Yard by participating in the project. There had been some times where they were able to enter the Heavenly Yard temporarily despite being contractors due to debacles they cause inside the box.
    • In Book 2, it's revealed that they can only stay in the Heavenly Yard despite being contractors if they wear specially designed crucifixes around their necks, otherwise they'll get dragged down to the Ground World.
  • Identical Stranger: Lampshaded a lot. Venomania mistakes Nemesis for Gumina, Banica jokingly flirts with Gallerian 'cause he looks like Carlos, etc.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: Venomania, naturally. His Establishing Character Moment is casually revealing (in more ways than one) that he doesn't wear pajamas. And he also has a Porn Stash, and a body pillow.
  • Not So Above It All: Allen helps Gallerian get back at Venomania at one point.
  • Odd Friendship: Some of the contractors develop these. Banica and Venomania, Nemesis and Kayo, Allen and Kayo and Riliane and Margarita are good examples.
  • Only Sane Man: Poor Allen.
  • Original Character: Jun (by JustBmPLove, the new husband of Margarita), debuting in Chapter 9.
Jun: I am the Emperor of the Kingdom of Yingmu, a nation hidden away from the outside world in another realm, made from the ruins of a forgotten country.
  • Past-Life Memories: Margarita uses Mikulia's knowledge of flowers to decorate the house.
  • Raptor Attack: A Jurassic Park-style raptor appears in chapter six, after Banica uses Nemesis' time machine. She apparently stole its egg because she wanted to eat it, which led to it attacking her.
  • Ret-Gone: When Venomania goes back in time in chapter 6 to prevent his own death, Nemesis, Gallerian and Kyle Marlon (and apparently many others) vanish from existence due to Karchess Crim (their ancestor) dying and thus them never being born. In a twist, it turns out Venomania didn't kill Karchess and planned to just leave him imprisoned and have his lover Yufina still bear his child so that Gallerian and Nemesis can exist. The reason Gallerian and Nemesis ceased to exist was because I.R.(AKA Irina Clockworker) killed him while looking for the Vessel of Wrath. Aside from that, other negative affects occur—Banica becomes impoverished (because her ancestor Maylis never leaves the harem), Kayo is switched to an Evillious resident as opposed to Jakokuese and still has her old black-haired body (because Elluka never switches bodies with Lukana and by extension Ma never gives Kayo Lukana's body), and Riliane forgets who Kyle Marlon is (because he never existed). The only one who isn't affected is Margarita, because Mikulia will still die and Eve will still take over her body, just in Venomania's harem rather than a brothel.
  • Storybook Episode: In Chapter 11, Clarith reads the disgruntled and injured Sinners a "Freezis Fairy Tale" of "The Robber Bridegroom" to calm them down(which eventually puts them to sleep), the entire story has the Sinners recast as its characters.
  • The Sleepless: Margarita still can't sleep. As such, she spends her nights in the living room so as not to disturb the other contractors.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Gallerian and Nemesis, though it's mostly because they're forced to hang out with each other.
  • Yaoi Fangirl: Banica may be this, considering her joke about Allen "punishing" Venomania for not helping Gallerian while he's not actually injured and her reaction to finding Venomania and Gallerian fighting after the latter is found out.
Banica: Holy crap! Naked Beelzenian Wrestling!

Tropes applying to the second story

  • Benevolent Mage Ruler: Alexander/Hero X (created by OmniverseMaster/DeviantMaster2014/Omniverse-Commander) is one of the two rulers of the Kingdom of Crystalis, and is capable of showing incredible Magic and Powers.
  • Big Applesauce: Chanban City, a city where Capriccio Academy resides, is inspired by the real-world cities of New York City and Brooklyn, it bears many similarities and influences with both of the most well-known spots in New York, USA. Including the moniker: "The Big Orange", a reference to the VOCALOID Kagamine Rin's character item and New York City's moniker: "The Big Apple".
  • Don't Touch It, You Idiot!: In Chapter 21, after falling into a garbage shoot leading into the basement of Behemo's home, Allen discovered a glass container containing a particular Bento Box that he was warned not to open. But, being Genre Blind, he opens it anyway, and releases the Demon of Discord, Tom Gonzo.
  • Face Framed in Shadow: Alexander/Hero X debuts like this in Chapter 16, with his face covered by his hood.
  • Magic and Powers: In Chapter 21, Alexander shows this off by sealing the Demon of Discord Tom Gonzo back in the Bento Box that SHOULD NEVER BE OPENED in 15 minutes with the help of the Barisols, revealing his previously covered face.
  • Original Character:
    • Alexander/Hero X, one of the rulers of Crystalis and Guardian of the Sins. He was also former student of Levia-Behemo. He makes his debut in Chapter 16 with part of his face covered behind his cloak's shadow, makes an appearance in Chapter 20 with Behemo, and eventually shows his power in Chapter 21.
Alexander/Hero X: In the name of Crystalis and all its stones that breath on native ground: Seal the evil that dwells within.
  • Nintai, Lilo, Psyche, Basil, Virginia, and Cameron by Bluebarnowl; also known as the 6 out of 7 Saints of Virtue. Nintai is Patience, Lilo is Charity, Psyche is Kindness, Basil is Diligence, Virginia is Chastity, and Cameron is Humility.
  • Tom Gonzo (by Cameron112367), the Demon of Discord and the very first Demon of Sin.
  • Virgin-Shaming: Venomania likes to make fun of Allen for being (and dying) a virgin. Allen usually snaps back at him somehow.
