Scars of War
is a My Little Pony fanfic by LSFRD. Written in 2003, it was never finished and only has two chapters. It is based upon the first two generations of the franchise.
Three years ago, a king came to Ponyland demanding the throne after he had been overthrown himself. When Majesty refuses, King Silverbow and his army began telling lies about the queen and how she refused their requests of asylum. Soon, a large army had been formed and a three year war began. It devastated the normally peaceful Valley.
This fanfic provides examples of:
- Dark Fic: The characters of G1 My Little Pony recently were involved in a long, deadly war with another kingdom.
- Death of a Child: Baby Bouncy, Baby Graffiti, and several other young ponies died in the war.
- Innocence Lost: The war has changed several of the ponies. Even foals like Baby Glory are somber and distant now.
- Mature Animal Story: The story is a War Fic starring talking, technicolor equines.
- Naming Ceremony: Baby ponies are given their "adult names" in a ceremony.
- Sailor Earth: King Silverbow is not a canon character, but does serve as a counterpart to the canon G1 royalty. Additionally, the ponies of Silverbow's kingdom are all described as being tall and skinny and having jewels in their eyes, which implies them to be G2 ponies.
- War Fic: The story deals with recovery from a war, rather than the war itself.
- War Is Hell: The war, known as "the Great Battle", took a toll on Ponyland and its ponies. It lasted three years, but even two years later everyone is only just now starting to recover.
