Go To

Sailor Moon: Gundalian Invaders is a crossover between Bakugan Battle Brawlers and Sailor Moon. It is a follow-up to The Laws of Nature.

Can be read here. Also cross-posted on FanFiction.Net. An updated version is now in process.

Sailor Moon: Gundalian Invaders provides examples of:

  • Actor Allusion: Dan notes that Sailor Venus sounds familiar. Both Venus and Alice from Dan’s home show were voiced by Emilie-Claire Barlow in their respective dubs.
  • Another Dimension: What Neathia And Dan’s world are to Sailor Moon’s world.
  • Arbitrary Skepticism: Makoto doesn’t believe that Ami has obtained Alien data. At first.
  • Big Bad: General Vladimir is the one calling the shots for much of the crossover, with Prof. Tomoe and Emperor Barodius on the sidelines.
  • Call-Forward: Mechtanium Surge’s Big Bad, Coredegon appears when the girls are sent to the Doom Dimension.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Early in the story, it’s shown that physical phantom data can be deleted along with the object it was added to. Ren later uses the deletion program to defeat Vladimir.
  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: Vladimir and his Professor plan to betray both Barodius and Germatoid. Germatoid meanwhile also wants to betray them and conquer Dan’s world for Pharoah 90.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: The Gundalian troops deliver one to the Senshi. Then they’re on the receiving end of it at the hands of Dan and Fabia.
  • Deadly Upgrade: Vladimir’s Olifus uses a Chaos Ability which prevents it from returning to ball form. This bites him in the ass when he gets defeated, meaning that he gets Killed Off for Real.
  • Depower: The surviving Baku-Daimons are Brought Down to Normal by the deletion program and Killed Off for Real by the Outers.
  • The Dragon: Prof. Galloway is the only named member of Vladimir’s army and the most proactive in fighting the heroes.
  • Dub Name Change: The rewrite distinguishes itself from the original by using the names from the DiC/Cloverway dub.
  • Eleventh Hour Super Power: Drago’s Perfect Core resonates with the Sailor Crystals, creating an armour that helps them kill Vladimir for good.
  • Elite Mooks: The Baku-Daimons, who are Daimons with the attributes and abilities of Bakugan.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Attention is called to how none of the villains notice a key difference with Sailor Moon. It’s the fact that her broach is missing.
  • Heel–Face Turn:
    • Galloway’s Splight, due to Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal.
    • 3 Gundalian Bakugan follows suit, once it becomes impossible to return to Gundalia’s army.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: Justified. Dan and Sailor Moon are both brainwashed. Or so it seems.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: If Vladimir’s Professor hadn’t tried to send Dan back to Neathia, Barodius wouldn’t have found out about his duplicity.
  • Non-Indicative Name: Dan points out that the Death Busters are such, choosing to dub them the Heart Snatchers
  • Out-of-Character Alert: After being hypnotised by Galloway, Dan and Usagi both start ferociously arguing with each other, which Luna and Artemis pick up on.
  • Out of Focus: Dan and Fabia take up most of the dialogue for the Brawlers. The others don’t even appear until the final quarter of the story.
  • Put on a Bus: Drago And Aranaut, partners to the main featured Brawlers, are left behind to get the other Brawers’ help.
  • Sequel Hook: The final scene leads into The Miraculous Adventures of Dan Kuso.
  • Shout-Out: The fic is an admitted shout out to Shinkenger vs Go-Onger. Or for simplistic people Clash of the Red Rangers.
    • Galloway is named after a Doctor Who character from 1984.
  • What Measure Is a Mook?: Vladimir and Galloway kill their minions left, right and center for their inane experiments.
