Rotting Candy
is a Crossover fanfiction of Lonely Wolf Treat with Starry Flowers Syrup and the Ultimate Sweet, her tears were my light, Contract Demon and BAD END THEATER, all made by NomNomNami, published on Archive of Our Own by user DespairBlitz.
The series is described as a Darker and Edgier collection of stories that puts various characters in different situations each chapter, usually end in graphic violence and death. There are 31 chapters that were published each day on October of 2023 in celebration of October being the month of Halloween.
This fic provides examples of the following tropes:
- Adaptational Jerkass: Mochi in the first chapter is vindictive, hates her fellow rabbits and her niceness is a facade.
- Boomerang Bigot: The hatred Mochi has towards the other rabbits in the first chapter.
- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Mochi admits in the first chapter that her niceness is a mere act.
- Bungled Suicide: Treat attempts to shoot herself after finding out that she seemingly killed all her friends but the pistol had no bullets, leaving her in despair.
- Came Back Wrong: Periwinkle's attempt to resurrect Pastille leaves the latter in a zombified state, and he eats Periwinkle.
- Dark Fic; Oh yes. All of the fluffiness in the games is taken and replaced with gore and violence.
- Death Seeker: Mochi is so fed up with Frosting that she wants to die.
- Driven to Suicide: Mochi tries ending her life because she's sick of living in Frosting, only to be saved by Treat.
- Paint the Town Red: Treat is manipulated emotionally by Mochi into killing everyone in Frosting, leading to this.
- Ruder and Cruder: Nami's games have zero swearing, aside from the occasional Gosh Darn It to Heck!. Not the case here.
- You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: Mochi's reaction to Moxie being unable to eat her.
