Refracted Differences is a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Fan Fic written by stormchaser313
, also known as “Sparkfire”. The fic is set in a post-canon scenario of the second entry in the series, the Explorers games.
The story follows Windrunner, a human-turned-Lucario, and his teammate, a Jolteon named Spark. Together, they are the legendary Team Tsunami, explorers famous for preventing a disaster several years before the fic began.
This fanfiction is a part of the "Refracted Universe", a universe created by the author himself, who currently is working on expanding it. Sparkfire is famous for his worldbuilding, so all his fanfics have tons of it.

Refracted Differences contains examples of:
- Abusive Parents: Spark's entire family ignores her because she evolved into a Jolteon.
- Action Girl: Spark is hot-headed and impulsive.
- Functional Magic: The Refracted universe has a ton of magic lore sprinkled into it. There's even a famous Espeon magician.
- Olympus Mons: During the first part of the story, Lugia has a prominent role.
Word of God says he's not going to have a major role anymore, though. - Sixth Ranger: Aurora, a few chapters in. She joins Team Tsunami.
