"Quiet and The Dimensional Traveler (Timeline A)" is a Metal Gear fanfiction by the author DANNYGROM.
The fanfiction is about a dimensional traveler called "D" that end up in the Metal Gear universe during the Phantom Pain incident. However he have hidden intentions.

- Actor Allusion: Stefanie got her name from Stefanie Joosten, the actress that plays Quiet in Metal Gear Solid V.
- A.K.A.-47: Subverted. While the original game use fictional guns, the fiction use real guns. Lampshaded in Chapter 1 (Beginning) by the protagonist.
- Anachronism Stew : Thanks to D's nature, the character are able to interact with technology that was not available in 1984, such as D's smartphone, Metal Gear wikia (although is more likely that D either downloaded the page or took some screenshots due the fact that Internet won't likely work), VSS and VSK rifles, listen to songs like "Hypnodancer" by Little Big or "Baby is on Fire" by Die Antwoord alongside technology that doesn't exists yet such a mass-to-energy converters.
- Anti-Hero: D is this. He is revealed to be a sociopath that will do anything for his plans.
- Berserk Button: Quiet is this for D. While is not against her, is about her. Everything from being hostile to her or to lust over her. He even get jealous when Venom Snake touches her shoulder.
- Bilingual Bonus: The fiction is filled with them. Some Russian and Greek words are untranslated, and entire sentences in Polish too. One of them in Chapter 15 (Deal with the Devil) is especially meaningful and can be translated as "My heart belong to you only".
- Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: D do it, not one but 4 times, both on Diamond Dogs and Skull Face.
- Crapsack World: D's own home-world is implied to be this and D makes it worse.
- Crazy-Prepared: Is implied that D took a lot of time for getting ready for his plan. He plans every scenarios even while he is already on his mission.
- Deadpan Snarker: D makes s lot of jokes, and he loves black humor. Is revealed later that he use it to cope and avoid PTSD.
- Disproportionate Retribution D cut Venom Snake's hand during his fight against him, because Venom Snake touched Quiet's shoulder.
- Eats Babies: D joke that "Quiet's special diet" consist in babies among chicks and kittens. Alive. Of course is not true as is later revealed that she does photosynthesis instead.
- Foreshadowing: D's speech about the fact that he can become Venom Snake too, foreshadow that he will renounce to his identity to please Quiet in the Epilogue.
- Gratuitous Foreign Language: Russian, Greek, Italian, German, Spanish, Polish, French,Croatian and Romanian and Navajo are used.
- Love Redeems: For Quiet is this. For D, not so much.
- Meaningful Name: D reveals that he chose to call himself "D" because he consider himself a Diamond Dog, taking a clue from D-Horse and D-Dog.
- Mistaken for Pedophile: D is mistaken as one by Eli, because the two are alone in a isolated place and the former want to talk with him, but D quickly reassure him by telling him that he is attracted by Quiet.
- No Celebrities Were Harmed: D refers to Stefanie Joosten as "a Dutch actress" but without mentioning her name, while describing to Quiet that she is famous in D's homeworld.
- Omni Glot: D speak a lot of languages, like English, Russian, Polish, Spanish, Greek and a bit of Navajo and say "Thank you" in Hungarian. He can at least also say "I love you" in Romanian, Croatian, German, French, and Italian.

Renamed to Avoid Association: D call the pre-Parasite version of Quiet, "Stefanie" with the justification of avoiding confusion. - Replacement Goldfish: Invoked. D tries to compensate the loss of his Quiets with clones of her. Of course for him they are not like the real deal.
- Star-Crossed Lovers: D and Quiet. Subverted and invoked as the same time during Psycho Mantis speech.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: D loves to give this to people. He later receives one too.
- Translation Convention: While most of the foreign languages are translated, the dialogue between Venom Snake and Eli in Kikongo is translated, and the same happen in Chapter 15 as the people are supposed to speak in Polish.
- Unishment: Stefanie chokes D because he touched her leg in a suggestive way, but results in D being happier.
- What the Hell Is That Accent??:
- D's accent is described as impossible to guess, and he could keep it artificial for keeping his identity secret.
- Quiet has this too, as D wonder if she is American or Dutch.
- "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue: The Chapter "Consequences" deal with all the characters's destinies after the Epilogue.
- When She Smiles: Quiet's smiles are like a drug for him. Downplayed when she smiles at Venom in a Psycho Mantis illusion.
- Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: D is this, after the Quiet's abandon him, wrecking chaos and implicitly causing a genocide.
